“I am a teacher”

Samuel Paty, a 47-year-old family man, taught history and geography at the Bois d'Aulne College. The teacher had recently shown cartoons of Muhammad to his fourth graders as part of a course on freedom of expression. Some parents were moved by it, especially on social media. The father of a student had filed a complaint on 8 October for the dissemination of pornographic images (a drawing of the naked and crouching prophet, with a star on his buttocks). The professor had in turn filed a defamation complaint. "Apparently it was a teacher who used to talk to them about Islam, cartoons and all that, it wasn't the first time my son came home and said 'the teacher told us about this today'," a parent of the student told AFP.

The teacher was attacked in the street as he was leaving work to return to his home on the eve of the All Saints' Day holiday. The prosecutor said the assailant had scouted Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and asked students to nominate him for the teacher.

Abdulzakh Anzorov, claimed responsibility. He is the author of the message posted on Twitter by an account (called @Tchetchene_270) now closed and which shows a photo of the victim's head. Underneath this photo, a message threatens Emmanuel Macron called "marcon," "the leader of the infidels," and its author claims to have "executed one of your dogs from hell who dared to belittle Muhammad." "The investigations were able to confirm that it was indeed an account belonging to the perpetrator," said Jean-François Ricard. The first operation of the assailant's phone, found near his body, "found in the notepad the text of the claim, recorded at 12:17 p.m. as well as the photograph of the deceased victim time-stamped at 4:57 p.m.," he added.

La proposta per la riapertura delle scuole sarebbe l'alternanza didattica in presenza/anti-didattica a distanza. Una sorta di classe mista: metà in presenza e metà connessa da remoto. Questa è la straordinaria soluzione a cui ministero, esperti, comitati sono infine giunti: tenere cinque ore metà classe davanti al pc. Una domanda semplice semplice che magari sarà sfuggita a queste menti illuminate: ma chi sarà accanto a questi bambini durante le cinque ore in cui saranno connessi da casa? I genitori? Non credo, perché che lavorino smart o non smart, devono appunto lavorare. I nonni? La famosa categoria fragile che fino a ieri abbiamo cercato di proteggere non esponendola a rischi inutili? I nonni anch'essi smart? E chi i nonni non ce li ha? La vicina di casa? La baby-sitter? Un'altra domanda semplice semplice che magari sarà sfuggita: esattamente come farà il docente a fare lezione usando due didattiche completamente diverse, una vera in presenza e una non-didattica a distanza? Ma qualcuna di queste menti illuminate ha messo mai piede in una scuola primaria? Ha mai fatto lezione davanti e in mezzo a dei bambini che devono imparare tutto da zero, anche come tenere in mano correttamente una matita? Ha mai contato il numero di volte che un bambino chiede spiegazioni o conferme al proprio lavoro? Ha mai toccato con mano l'importanza di uno sguardo al momento giusto, di un sorriso, di un silenzio ? Questo miracolo accade solo in presenza. In questo modo non farà più lezione nessuno: né quelli che saranno presenti, né tantomeno gli alunni stessi messi a pascolare davanti al pc e privati del contatto diretto con l'insegnante e delle interazioni tra pari. Un'ultima domanda semplice semplice: ma avete idea di quale sia il range di attenzione di un bambino così piccolo? Ma davvero credete che un bambino possa mantenere la propria concentrazione, la propria curiosità, la propria motivazione tenuto davanti a un pc per cinque ore, vedendo allo stesso tempo i compagni dall'altra parte dello schermo interagire?
