There was a time I questioned the path that I now journey. It is an unconventional path and one that has facilitated some of the most aggressive and progressive life changes I've ever experienced. In some ways, I've changed drastically and am now quite a different person than who I used to be. Some have not always understood these changes. I haven't always understood them myself. Still, there were other misplaced parts of me, needing to be rediscovered. Again, I've not always understood the "rhyme or reason" to the vicissitudes of this thing called life, but it was in these very times I was compelled to press deeper into Spirit. It was in these times my ear was being further tuned to the frequency of the Divine. This was a deliberate choice. The more I acknowledge and begin the inner-work needing to be done, the more inner-work is revealed. More expansion and growth continues to be my reward. I encourage anyone experiencing the "perceived lows" of life's experience to hang in there. There's no pure gold without intense heat. No diamond without unbelievable pressure. No precious oil or wine without powerful crushing. You are not a helpless victim. You have the power to change the narrative of your life at any given time. Know that you are capable of more than you could've ever imagined and that Spirit knows and oversees the exact circumstances necessary to manifest your highest good, even when we don't understand. Let it be. Work the process. Evolve. Expand. Elevate. People always ask what inspired me to start dancing. It’s incredibly corny but this movie right here is what motivated me. Plus a very strong push in the right direction from Alexandra Leigh 😘 I remember sitting watching Center Stage in Stephanie Burlton’s basement mesmerized. I begged my parents to put me in dance classes but seeing as how I quit everything I started pretty much a week or a month into things they simply said, “if you want to dance pay for it yourself.” Cut to me getting my very first job at McDonalds, yes McDonalds. I’m pretty sure my parents assumed I would get over dance and quit but I didn’t. Little did I know that flash forward 10 years and I would be living in the city of my dreams having toured and performed all over the world, dancing for princes and celebrities, constantly having to pinch myself that this is really my life. Sometimes you have to sit back and look at your accomplishments take it all in and asses things so you can refocus your fire to forge ahead. It’s been a process. I’ve learned so much. Put my foot in my mouth more than a few times. Lost some friends over petty small fights. They say you have to go through uncomfortable times to grow and achieve your dreams. This is going to be a big year of me being uncomfortable and I’m ready. In both my work and my personal life. I’m ready to move ahead and mend some of the friendships I’ve damaged.
