Soundcloud is a pretty awesome platform where you can upload, share and discover new music. I prefer listening to it than local radio stations whenever I travel. Here are five sweet finds you might also like. Track includes:
Klangkarussel feat Will Heard - Sonnentaz (sun don’t shine without you)
PNAU - Baby (bakermat mix)
Jaymes Young - Habits of my Heart
Andrea - Tenderly
Caribou. - Can’t do without you
At the end of the day you are responsible for your own protection. It’s not like you carry a police with you. It’s beneficial and awesome when you know your rights and not cave in to the idea that authority figures like polices are always to be obeyed. Besides, knowledge of your rights is a weapon you can freely carry while not scaring people away.
Cheers To New Happenings!
From the graduation of my sister, the four of us (me, dad, and two sisters) decided to go to a nearby funfair for a celebration. We arrived around five in the afternoon and immediately explored the new place. We were happy because there's not much crowd and long lines. Probably because it's still under construction. Also, there were only few rides available and most are for kids. We tried everything except for the Super Viking since we're hungry and tired and decided to leave early. It sucks my camera died before I can take picture of the ranch from the Sky Eye Ferris Wheel.
I bet the place will be much more fun when finished and many would be visiting it. At least we got reason to go back.
Trip to Baler
Place: Baler, Aurora Province, Philippines
Date: November 2010
Right, so here's the deal with me and traveling. For the past 3 years my family and I started traveling around the Philippines. In that span of time, luckily we've been able to experience different cultures from Luzon and Visayas and to somehow feel like a real local of the place even for just a week. We've gone to at least six cities including sidetracks and been to two festivities. It's been quite a while since, but I hope it's not to late to share!
Anyone know the film "Baler" of Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales? I've seen the film although was not able to focus well since I'm not a drama/romance movie fan, but it's basically about a love story of a Filipina and a Mestizo soldier amidst revolution. So, my family was invited to attend to a wedding ceremony in Baler which is the capital of Aurora province and the setting where the fictitious characters Feliza and Celso began their forbidden love, the next thing I knew, we're driving 88 miles north-east.
It was 8 a.m. when we arrived at the hotel, it took us a long drive of 8-9 hours, thanks to the varied mountain scenery the travel was not very painful. The first thing I did when I got off the car is to run towards the beach and took a quick photo (I couldn't resist).
The next days were spent going to the museum, the biggest balete tree in the Philippines (it's huge you can actually go inside of it), the church where the climax of the movie "Baler" took place, attended a wedding ceremony of course, and swimming at the beach! However, there's nothing much to do after that. There are no shopping malls, no fast-food or restaurants we usually have in Manila. But that's the beauty provinces offer right? It features complete getaway from city-life and time to re-connect to nature, that I bet we won't get in Manila.
I'm sure Baler years from now will be known not just for surfing, and going there surely made me want to travel more. I'm a hardcore fan of traveling, and this town is one of the places I'll be willing to visit again. It's one of the must-see places especially for surfer fans and a worthwhile experience for me and my family.
