Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
Martin Luther King (INFJ)
I'm an INFJ, and I'm constantly puzzled when my INFP friend keeps pointing out that my way of viewing most things is too "subjective". She appears to have a distinction between objective facts and subjective understanding that simply might not be there or might not be important to me. Would you say that this is a major difference between INFJs and INFPs? And would you say that it's true that INFJs tend to have a more subjective outlook on things that matter to them?
Ah I understand where you’re coming from, my two best friend’s are INFPs. The difference here is in INFJ’s judging function versus INFPS perceiving function. For example, while people like you and me prefer to make choices quickly, we ant to get the job done and we value closure. This is very different to the way an INFP handles such things. You see Perceivers like to keep many options/choices open and because of this they tend to avoid or put off decisions. Knowing this difference it would make a lot of sense that a INFP might see an INFJ as opinionated and rigid, when in reality we just have different ways of going about decisions. I hoped that helped. If you ever have any other questions feel free to shoot me an ask.
