#RacismDividesUs For all my life, I have always been Malaysian. And I know that that will never change. It pains me to read stuff on the Internet these days, so much hate and negativity. So much ignorance. I believe that my neighbours, my friends, my colleagues, my teachers - of whatever race they are from, be it Indian, Chinese, Malay, Punjabi, Iban, Bidayuh, Kayan, Kenyah, Kelabit, Kadazan, Melanau, Chindian, Chinlay, Chiban, Mamak or Mami, etc. - are not like those brainless internet trolls, those stupid keyboard warriors, spreading hatred just cause they can. I believe that the people around me, my fellow Malaysians, care for each other, respect each other, and just want to live their lives to the fullest, happily together. We’re too mixed up racially to be segregating ourselves into specific races. We’re all part this and part that, almost noone is “pure blood” these days. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be proud of your heritage, you have every right to protect it. But, at the end of the day, all of us are just human beings, so please be humane first. Be kind to your neighbours, because we are all the same species, we bleed the same, we face the same illnesses, we die and leave the same bones and ashes. All this talk about riots and wanting to recreate dark times of history is not funny, it’s dangerous. Violence and fighting never leads to a happy ending, ever. You may think you have a winner at the end of the day, but humanity is lost, so nobody wins. So be kind to your neighbours, be proud Malaysians, and be humble human beings. #Malaysian #IAmMalaysianFirst #BeHumanBeings #BeKindToYourNeighbours #ViolenceIsNotTheAnswer #TrulyMultiRacial https://www.instagram.com/p/BqnHMi5BB9M/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ufugr1uddgxy
