“I understand.” He nodded.  He knew.  He didn’t take it lightly.  When he and Leia were little, they would play at being great heroes like their mother, like Aunt Ahsoka and Uncle Obi-Wan; but it was different once they were grown . . . grown, and taking their place in the Rebellion.  Luke wasn’t much for the political and tactical parts of war -- but he took his part, the part of a soldier and soon-to-be Jedi, very seriously.  

“I won’t let you down, Aunt Ahsoka.” He promised, shuffling his flight helmet under his arm, resting against his hip where the hilt of his father’s lightsaber hung.

“Yes,” Mara said, the blaster burn in her leg wasn’t bleeding, but it did hurt, and it did slow her down. She wasn’t going to be able to make it back to her ship until either it healed, or the pirates left. Unless she had help. Mara turned her hazel eyes to the Togruta, “You know, right now we’ve got a very common enemy,” she said. The pirates after all, were not with the Rebels. 

And hunting down Rebels was Vader’s ( obsessive ) thing, not Mara’s. She’d been tasked to come to the planet, and hunt down a governor who’d turned traitor. Though he hadn’t turned traitor so much as had his family kidnapped. 

“I have the authority to command all Imperial troops in the area. If you’re willing to help me, this isn’t the first time I’ve called a truce with Rebels. I promise to see the Rebels safely off the planet once we’ve taken down the pirates, and saved Governor Lerga’s family. And while technically Lord Vader has instructed all Rebellion activity be reported to him immediately ... what Vader doesn’t know isn’t my problem,” Mara said, offering a hand out to the other woman. “Truce?”

     A  WOLFLIKE  GRIN  SPREADS  across  his  face  the  moment  he  sees  her .  one  hand  rests  behind  him ,  ever  so  slightly  below  the  seam  of  where  flesh  and  blood  meets  metal  and  wire .  his  other  hand ,  gently ,  almost  daintily ,  outstretches  as  if  he  is  making  an  offering .    ❝  ah ,  lady  tano .  it  has  been  far  too  long  since  our  last  meeting .  ❞    his  voice  is  a  purr ,  confidence  coating  every  syllable  and  a  kind  of  cold  humor  sparkling  in  his  eyes .  he  probably  should  not  be  quite  so  pleased  to  see  her ,  considering  the  circumstances  of  their  goodbyes  —  but  he  is  nothing  if  not  persistent .

     ❝  have  you  come  to  apologize  for  so  rudely  leaving  me  to  die ?  ❞    for  the  briefest  of  moments ,  the  edge  of  his  voice  is  sharp ,  harsh  —  though  it  was  not  the  first  time  he  had  been  presumed  dead ,  lady  tano's  doing  so  was  much  colder  than  kenobi's  had  been .  that ,  he  knew ,  was  nothing  personal .  he  almost  wishes  it  had  been .  there  are  few  things  more  distasteful  than  impersonally  allowing  someone  to  die .  if  you  desire  someone's  death ,  you  should  be  strong  enough  to  commit .  (  this ,  at  least ,  kenobi  understood .  unfortunately   —  or perhaps fortunately ,  considering  the  circumstances  —  it  seems  it  is  something  he  had  not  passed  along  his  lineage .  )  (  not  that  kenobi  ended  up  more  capable  of  killing  maul ,  but  it  is ,  as  they  say ,  the  thought  that  counts .  )

MEET THE BB STARTER || @iamnojedii

Ahsoka had been with Luke and the Yavin IV academy for a long time now; decades had passed since Luke had founded it.   In that time, so much had happened-- a Council had been formed, he himself had been elected Grand Master, a hundred hundred crises had risen and passed, eventually even the young Jedi Grand Master had found a partner, and it seemed the stars had finally aligned to bring them together to marry.  Even that was years ago at this point, and Luke would be the first to admit that these past few months, he’d been more than a little distracted.  Thankfully, the Jedi Council were capable enough to pick up the slack-- though, in all honesty, Luke was more than a little happy to start settling into a routine, which included returning to Council meetings; though this time he didn’t come alone.  

"His name is Ben.” Luke explained, showing Ahsoka the redheaded baby in his arms, an involuntary, proud smile settling on his face.  “After Obi-Wan.”  He paused, then added after a moment, giving his son his finger to hold.  “I didn’t think he would mind . . .”

Muscles tensing the cloaked figure stares down the one before him, standing his ground he’s poised confidently but behind the hood indecision swirled within. This isn't what he expected to find, or who.

His orders had been clear, locate and eliminate the Jedi known as Kanan Jarrus, along with all those who conspired to harbor him, simple enough. Had torn through this place with relative ease, not even having to draw his saber. But it would seem he’s tracked down the wrong a Jedi.

Doesn't recognize the Togruta from the archives, meaning it might be best to fall back until receiving further instruction. But he's so eager to get a Jedi's blood on his hands, does it really matter which one’s it was? All were enemies of the empire, and more importantly his Master.

Through the force the cloaked figure‘s saber is pulled from his belt to his hand, it's red blade lights in his reverse grip.

     “ ahsoka. ”  ezra breathes heavily, closing his eyes for a moment, before he leans against the wall of the outside building.  he can’t move.  everything hurts, && he feels feverish, && THIS IS THE WORST MOMENT FOR HIS CHRONIC ILLNESS TO STRIKE.  they have to run.  now.
