The wind rips though my soft brown hair, making it whip her tender cheeks in every which way. Annie sits at the back of the train with her only bag in her lap, heading off to District two for boarding school. Looking down at her chest, she sees her golden seashell locket that Amelia gave her before she left them… All of them… A lump made its way into Annie’s throat, bringing her heart down with it, and making her eyes sting with tears. She didn’t want to leave, not now. Her rosy pink bottom lip falls as a sod crawls from her lungs, racking her body over and over again. When the train comes to a halt, her bag drops and her dresses fall out, filling her little space with beautiful pastel colors. Annie races to get all of her stuff together without problems from other people. As she folds her dresses back into her bag in perfect order with those hot tears still on her cheeks dropping down onto her dresses, as she clips the bag tight and sigh deeply. When she looks up from the ground where she was, everyone was off the train. She hurried out the door and stepped out in District Two for the first time… Being from the District by the ocean she wasn’t use to this place… There wasn’t a soft crash of waves or seagulls squawking or hot sand… As she makes her way down the streets, coming up upon a small hotel where she checks in and takes her stuff to her room, and then goes to explore the place a little more before going to the school tomorrow. The rock pavement tapped against her soft black flats she had worn every day. Looking both ways and smiling at everyone that waved, she made her way to a little shop with candles and other sweet smelling stuff. “Miss?” The lady at the counter says with a bit of sass in her voice. Annie turns around with her hands clasped in front of her in a polite manor. “Yes Ma’am?” She says in her brilliantly mousy voice, waiting for an answer. “You’re going to have to buy something or leave.” Annie’s heart drops softly into her stomach, and replies. “I guess I’ll leave, because I don’t have any money, thank you for letting me say here for the time being though.” Annie smiles brightly, and tips her head into a soft nod. Getting back on the sidewalk she hums a lovely tune that her mother use to sing to her when she was just a baby. Looking over her shoulder she sees a shadow following her. No she didn’t speed up or look around again, she just kept going the way she wanted, hoping it would leave. But it doesn’t, after a few moments she cuts a corner and bumps into someone, pressing her hand upon his chest. “Oh my goodness!” She shrikes, stepping back a few feet. “I am so sorry.” She hangs her head in worry of being yelled at by the young man before her. “Someone was following me and I just-“ She cuts herself off and shakes her head softly. “I-I’m Annie Cresta…” She almost blurts out.
