#Repost @bethechangeyyc Yesterday (August 15th) was very smokey, but the homeless appreciated the water for their dry throats. We helped 200+ homeless individuals handing out sandwiches, bottled water, granola bars, pastries (Cinnamon buns, Scones, Danishes) tooth brushes, tooth paste, and resource guides. Our homeless always express such gratitude for what we do. One guy sang us a song as thanks, last week one donated a beautiful piece of Indigenous Art Work he had made, which we donated to the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (picture included below). One thing we are always reminded of is our homeless's skills & talents that often go forgotten. We love to show case them and will continue to show case them on our posts. Thanks to @veginyyc for your donation of 120 bottles of Water for this event. Thanks also to @evasita_s for your donation of 48 bottles of Water. Special thanks also goes out to Nicole Marshall-Timmerman & family for your donation to help with this event. Thanks also goes to @mainvilledeb for all your support & prep for this event. Thanks to the team members who could make it out, Wanda Hartman-Trytten, Matthew Dorie, Barb Reid, and Chaz Smith. Are you a community member who would like to donate or volunteer? Please keep us in mind and send us a message. We are always looking for more committed volunteers to join our team in a bi weekly bases. If you have a business or would like to donate, we are always in need of more bottles of water, and snacks like cookies or granola bars, please don't be shy, send us a message. #BeTheChangeYYC #HelpingOthers #GivingBack #IamYYC #LoveYYC #EndingHomelessness #CommunityMatters #AffordableHousing #IamDowntown #OutreachTeam #BTC #BeTheChange #GoodNeighbor #CityOfCalgary (at Calgary, Alberta)
