I know I rarely post things, but I’m trying to increase my output. Now… Seven years ago, my mom got me a kindle for Christmas. Six and a half years ago, I bought a book called ‘Foundation’ by Isaac Asimov and another book called ’Semper Mars’ by Ian Douglas (a.k.a. William H. Keith). I started reading Semper mars and got bored within a page. it didn’t really hook me. I started Foundation, it hooked me, I read it and finished it. It was good, Asimov knew how to write. But then I felt like I wanted some new books. But, feeling guilty for not reading Semper Mars, I gave it a second chance. Then I got hooked SUPER hard three pages in! Space! Mars! The face on Mars! War! The Marines! Semper Mars belongs to a nine part book series following the marines as they fight through space. It took me almost five years to finish the whole series and I loved all of it! There’s a lot to learn about the Marines in these works of fiction. Their founding by Major Samuel Nicholas, all the way to Chesty Puller in World War two. But the story follows a family line of marines, the Garroway family, across time. This might hype it up too much but… the progression in the nine books is the same scale as Gurren Lagann! Want a solid, well written, well realized, action packed and educated science fiction space thriller!? FUCKING READ SEMPER MARS!!
