closed for @ianfm featuring kit and ian at the darling apartment complex.
ian is a nice kind of friend to have. the two of them don’t see each other as often as they might see their other friends - not that kit has an abundance of those - but that only makes it all the more nice when they finally do get together once again. kit is somewhat embarrassed to admit just how long it has been since the two have caught up; his parents raised him better than to be so impolite, though as he frets over the fact he’s also soothed by knowing that it’s the fault of no one’s. both ian and himself have been busy with their lives, busy developing, changing and growing. kit doesn’t know just how much ian’s life has changed since they saw each other as of late, but he has a feeling that things must be looking up for his ex-coworkers as dolly’s face read utter excitement when he told her that ian would be coming around.
the knock on the door has come sooner than he’s expecting it, though he still answers it with a smile. “hi ian.” he greets him. he steps aside so that the other man can make his way inside promptly; the hallways through the darling complex are nice and all, but they’re not somewhere kit cares to linger. “come in, come in.” he ushers him gently, closing the door behind them both. “sorry for the mess, i thought i’d have time to get it all done before you were here.” he admits, making sure to blame himself over the innocent ian - though kit is quite innocent, too, as the ‘mess’ he speaks of is a few piles of his and valentine’s clean yet unfolded laundry in a basket next to the couch and his selection of video tapes messily around the television rather than stacked neatly. “would you like a drink? oh, or some cake? dolly dropped one off this morning, i told her you’d be by. she’s at hers with topher right now.”
