A lot of reviewers bashed the #Ibelux Handevision 40mm F0.85 Mark II lens made by #Kipon before I was able to secure my copy. They probably were amateur photographers who didn’t know how to utilize such a special tool? I absolutely LOVED this lens as a photographer who actually knows what an aperture is! ;) Unfortunately, my copy of the lens was stolen in a brazen auto burglary before the pandemic only to show up on @eBay just days ago! An update: @TempePolice here in Arizona, are onto the lead! They called me and got all the nitty gritty details. That was seriously encouraging! This was photo was captured with the lens in my previous post. Shot with the #Ibelux made by #Kipon wide open at F0.85 just after sundown and dusk. This lens is made by @kipon_sh and it’s rumored they are designing a third iteration of it! This #Saguarocactus in the image is dying of dehydration and fungus attacks due to lack of hardly any monsoonal moisture for two straight summers now. It’s being blamed on Global Warming... Unfortunately this beautiful piece of glass was amongst the gear that was robbed. This photograph was captured wide open at F0.85 and it’s a perfect lens for lowlight photography. Captured at first light today with a #FujiFilmXH1 (@fujifilmx_us) and the #Kipon #Ibelux #40MM F0.85 lens shot at F1.4 which proves the lens made by @kipon_sh sharpens up quite nicely (good enough) across the frame when slightly stopped down. F1.4 is still plenty fast. Also tried #FujiFilm’s velvia mode. I’m liking the camera; only downside is I noticed a little bit of what looks like oily residue inside the camera box but not on the sensor. This photo was shot wide open at F0.85 on one of the worlds fastest and most affordable lenses, the #Ibelux OR the #ibelux40mmf085 made by @kipon_sh! This is an interesting lens to capture #OldWest #Ghosttowns around the #SilverState in #SouthernNevada! #AntiquatedStreetBench on the historic #Mainstreet of #Pioche #Nevada. This is the #MiningCamp established in 1867 that truly lives up to the #wildwest hype that became the tourist trap of Tombstone, Arizona. In this background is an old abandoned homestead and this Cedar Post served as a sharpness test for the #Ibelux 40mm F0.85 shot wide open on a #FujiFilm X-H1 on a stormy day out of direct sunlight. This was a beautiful test result of the #bokeh that this lens is capable of. Only problem is, I have to get this camera replaced because it’s having issues and it may be another few weeks before I can get the replacement. The lens performs nicely though for lowlight! From the #Haunted #OverlandHotel in #PiocheNevada, the truest wildest western town in the 19th century, which would put #TombstoneArizona to shame with its gunslingers, corrupt sheriffs, and murderous history. I believe the entire mining camp of #Pioche is haunted and the energy isn’t confined to buildings or walls; it permeates in the streets at night. Legend has it that over 76 people died in shootouts and cold blooded murder before anyone died of natural causes when the town was first established in 1867. . This photo was taken by me with the #Kipon #Ibelux 40mm F0.85 lens captured wide open inside the Overland at 2 AM! Follow @kipon_sh. These guys support my work and I enjoy their lenses. I approached these guys. It wasn’t vice-versa. Their Medium Format Focal Reducer is my most used piece of gear. If something sucks I will say so; but I’ve had a few months with the BavEyes focal reducer in my main photo work and it’s a keeper to me. I’ve invested in two vintage Mamiya lenses just to use this adaptor daily. The #Ibelux is a hard piece of glass to get used to, but it has a ton of potential. It’s a hefty piece of glass designed for more artistic photographers. I’ll be shooting it more once my FujiFilm mirrorless is in good Working order. . On another note, why is @Instagram’s greed getting so obvious? They continue to suffocate organic engagement on Instagram accounts of my friends. They want to monetize us and milk us. Every algorithm update is designed to maximize their profit margins and exploit us even more; I honestly believe this. I’m not impressed with @Facebook or @Instagram. I give them money through our nonprofit and they continue to stifle organic reach...so disgusted. Even their customer service is nonexistent!?
