#HauntedOverlandHotel in #PiocheNevada which is far more haunted than #Tombstone, Arizona. Things actually go bump here all over the town after dark. This is an interesting lens to capture #OldWest #Ghosttowns around the #SilverState in #SouthernNevada! #AntiquatedStreetBench on the historic #Mainstreet of #Pioche #Nevada. This is the #MiningCamp established in 1867 that truly lives up to the #wildwest hype that became the tourist trap of Tombstone, Arizona. If there’s anything really uncanny about the #haunted #miningcamp of #Pioche #Nevada, it’s the town’s inexplicable preoccupation with realistic looking #mannequins that fill up spaces in every crook and cranny in the #Nevada community: even the laced #OverlandHotel and Saloon’s dance hall has fellow dummies. These life size dolls have their own reputation of generating spooky stories such as moving on their own and changing chairs and seating positions. Go the #MillionDollarCourthouse where an entire jury of your peers are mannequins dressed in 19th century garb. The jail out behind the court house has the most spooky energy emanating from the first jail cell while the other ones seem ordinary; it’s the focal point singularity where most of the town’s eerie vibe is at its highest concentration levels. The old #GilaCounty #Jailhouse in #Globe #Arizona has its fair share of #ghost stories and #phantoms running around these corridors. A county historian was was nice enough to show me around the prison that was still active and overcrowded in the 1970s. The county was forced to shut down the jailhouse due to inhumane conditions and over crowding. It sits right behind the courthouse in Downtown Glob. At this point, the #Jail is not open to the public but they hope to open it soon after some maintenance work. .
