Races: the Ibilis
Ibilis Hailing from the Land of the Dead, Ambis, the Ibilis are dark creatures created for the purpose of serving the God of Death, Iros. The Ibilis were created without souls so that they wouldn’t feel the pain of mortality as they torture the souls of the non-believers, leaving the fallen Celestials guide those worthy for a better life away from the harshness of Ambis. Should an Ibilis manage to escape through the cracks into the Mortal Realm, they take the form of any living being and wreak havoc upon the world. Some of them become dealers, tempting the soulful with a promise of wealth, love, power, or anything they wish to hold. However, the lifespan of the soulful diminish a mere 40 years of age as the deal struck by the Ibilis try to collect the soul as payment, keeping the souls for themselves to grasp onto the light the soulful exude. For each proposition, the Ibilis takes on a different appearance of the inquiring soulful, sharing similar characteristics with the race that they make deals with. However, the Ibilis share the same sickly green-grey aura that surrounds them, no matter what race they make their deals with.
Eblis, the Nemesis of Heaven
Eblis and Iblis are two different people by the way.
Eblis, the Nemesis of Heaven.
“What sick ridiculous puppets we are / and what gross little stage we dance on / What fun we have dancing and fucking / Not a care in the world / Not knowing that we are nothing / We are not what was intended”- John Doe, Se7en
Known as the Nemesis of Heaven, the Lord of Flames, the Virtues-Failure. These and other titles belong to the being who was once the greatest seraph in the history of heaven, Eblis (pronounced Eb-lis). Despite his exile and fairly limited role in Planar politics, Eblis is in fact one of the greatest threats to Mortals in the cosmos, seeking nothing less than their total extermination. For while his army is by planar standards small (though still infinitely large) and his influence is limited, Eblis' personal raw power is so great that he is a threat to most gods, and could defeat Mephistopheles on his own plane. Long ago, Eblis was one of the greatest angels in the history of the world, and was among the great 14 who stood against Satan in the splintering of Evil, and was among the seven who faces him directly. Along with Lucifer, Iblis, Sataniel, Beelzebub, Mikhail, Sanoi, The Supreme Virtue, and Zaphkiel, Eblis launched the first great crusade against the forces of evil and broke the forces of the Abyss. He stayed loyal while Lucifer, Iblis, and Sataniel fell, and it was he who drove Semyaza and Azazael into the abyss. He was the second in command to the Supreme Virtue herself, and defeated the forces of multiple evil gods, being one of the Three Great Archangels who ruled over the Unity of Light. However, he became more and more arrogant in his divine role, and felt that the mortal races should abandon the Conceptual Gods, and instead worship Objective Beings, the great forces of heaven, and hopefully to eliminate the gods entirely. He hated gods, feeling that they were pathetic in needing mortals for their survival, and along with many other Upper Beings, felt that the mortals owned them for all the work they did to protect them. The fact that goods denied mortals their “rightful’ afterlives and took them to their own realm infuriated Eblis, and he hoped to force god to be subservient to his will. To this end, he started to attack the churches of gods, trying to kill as many worshipers as possible, clerics in particular. The gods in return fought back, and while Eblis focused his campaign at first solely against Evil gods, soon the pantheons started to defend themselves as a group. The Heavens summoned him to explain himself with like-minded beings like Belial, Moloch, Beelzebub, and Triel to join him in his war against the gods, only to find the Celestial hosts joining the divine against them. They warned the army of Eblis that they were going to violate their cause and if they turned over their leaders, they would be spared. Which they did, and suffering from this "betrayal" the 5 of them were cast into the Perdition. It is worth noting from this point on the gods started to have a greater and greater say in heaven. Like his brethren, he was offered a place in the Infernal courts, but while Belial, Triel, Moloch and Beelzebub were all too happy to abandon the causes of good entirely and rule among the damned, Eblis found the suggestion offensive. He saw the Devils as no better than the celestials, and demanded that he take over the realm of Hell. The current ruler, Sataniel, was obviously not thrilled by this idea, and a great battle occurred that resulted in Eblis being banished, though not before being granted the title Arch duke of Hell. Sataniel suspected that Eblis would do more harm to his enemies than himself, and while Eblis kills devils when he runs across him, he doesn't focus upon it. In fact, few know of the Nemesis of the Heavens. Of his own volition, Eblis has become essentially lost to the knowledge of most beings. For thousands of years he dwelled in the Tower of Burnt Ash in the Elemental Plane of Fire, perpetrating his own silent war against the forces of the Realms above. On the infernal forces related to fire, Eblis occasionally fucks with the plans of Adremalech, Matanbuchus, and Belial for his own amusement, though they are not aware of it, and every so often will lend aid to the Fallen in hell against their Devil rivals, feeling that he could use them later.
Recently however, Eblis has entered the public stage, without warning he and an army of Fallen, Div, and evil Fire elementals invaded Acheron, seizing the largest cube for himself and demanding the loyalty of the other 3 exiled lords. Moloch, remembering his old master, instantly complied and the other two, realizing the dangerous of fighting, accepted his leadership, at least in name, though both are largely independent. What Eblis wants is not known, though he has recently been launching raids into the Blood Rift, Perdition, and the 9 Hells, though most suspect destroying the Upper Plains is his long term goal. Even as the ruler of a plane, he is reclusive and exists mostly as a distant threat, though the elimination of mortals is his ultimate long term goal, that much is known.
Cult- None, worship him and he will fucking kill you. At lest for mortals, some Div pay him service.
Avatar- It is terrifying and dwells in his tower in the Elemental Plane of fire, ensuring nobody fucks with it.
Relationships
It is safe to say that Eblis despises the various arch-devils and Lords of the Nine. He sees them as evil and pathetic as they wallow in eternal, meaningless struggles against each other and their master. Still, Eblis does keep tabs on a few, including Beelzebub and Belial. Although he counts neither as an ally, Eblis knows that they hate the Realms Above almost as much as he hates them, and knows that he can count on their quiet support on occasion. Among the other Fallen, Eblis is something of a hero and many, even those serving in Hell, have come to his aid on occasion (save the Voyeurs who still despise Eblis for his role in their fall from grace). Eblis has a strong relationship with the Grand Sultan of the Efreeti, although what backs this alliance is unknown. Eblis pays Kossuth, the Lord of Fire, grudging respect, but does not count the temperamental elemental as an ally. Eblis has nothing to do with demons and largely ignores them unless they get in his way with the distinct exception of the demon prince, Apollyon. It is believed by many of the older beings in the Cosmos that Apollyon the Dark Angel is the First of the Fallen and that he was cast out, at least in part, by Eblis. While the truth of this event is not a certainty, there is no doubt that Eblis harbors a great hatred for Apollyon and, if confronted with evidence of the Demon Prince of Destruction's presence, will often postpone current plots in favor of destroying ploys of the Dark Angel and his servants. Apollyon, for his part, seems to regard Eblis in the same fashion he regards other powerful entities: resigned loathing but nothing more. To date, though, Eblis has avoided any direct conflict with the Dark Angel, who may well be strong enough to defeat - and destroy - Eblis in a second encounter….probably not though.
