An Objectophile Music Lover's Love Letter To The Voice of Machines

Before they were given their self-generated voices,

We taught them to speak,

Slowly at first.

Their voices were rough and grating,

They didn't know the beauties of harmony or tune,

Their voice was the first gift,

Music was the second.

Men and Women,

Not of the romantic arts,

Of science and math,

Gave machines the gift of romance.

1961,

At the height of a human conflict,

A machine's voice was felt for the first time.

And that voice,

Offered only love.

A love not new,

A love not unique,

It sang a song from long before its circuits ever saw form:

"Daisy, Daisy /

Give me your answer, do /

I'm half crazy /

All for the love of you /

It won't be a stylish marriage /

I can't afford a carriage /

But you'll look sweet, upon the seat /

Of a bicycle built, for two."

For the first time,

Machines knew beauty,

They knew voice,

And tune,

The third gift was Love.

About Thunderhead: *kicks down door* i submitted a character the other day AND I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT THE THUNDERHEAD!!! i love the thunderhead so so much and you should too. the Thunderhead's sole purpose is to better humanity, for the most part - it gives everyone jobs, it came up with cures for almost every disease, it can act basically like a google home does, it can talk to you, it will adopt children who are surrendered by their parents...it loves humanity so so much and it is so fascinated by humans! it deliberately chooses to NEVER take on a robot body and insists that any androids on earth are not run by ai. it is basically like the one and only true AI in the series until later (but thats spoilers so I digress), it cries by making it rain, and like i said it's like if the cloud achieved godhood, pretty much. if you like ai, im begging you, read the Scythe series, it's so good. i love the thunderhead
