Ibratice + T'una papita, Los Kjarkas
You want to send me away because you don't have the strength to see me, brother. Because each time you look at me, your conscience torments you. You remember Ibrahim.
Happy Birthday Bell @himejoshimahi ❤️
The small smile from Hatice here… the way Ibrahim can’t bring himself to take him away right away… ending it all
I love Hatice and Ibrahim's first wedding night. Excitement radiating out of both of them (Ibrahim is more openly excited for once, while Hatice is more restrained, flipping their previous dynamic on its head), Ibrahim letting her veil out so gently almost as not to hurt her and enjoy the moment to the fullest, Hatice longingly staring at him, seeking his touch as a part of her still can't believe that this is even happening, but it is, so she lets her excitement visibly rise too as Ibrahim draws back her hair and takes her jewel off, both of them still processing, facing what has just transpired after so much struggle and separation, that they're already "in heaven", that this is not a dream but a reality, both of them accepting at the same time that they're actually here, in this castle, together, finally giving in, drawing their lips closer more slowly but then more confidently and Ibrahim unbuttoning Hatice and all the rest, and fully embracing this single moment that caps off with the meaningful symbolic gifts both have given to the other - the butterfly and the handkerchief standing there, together (with that vial in the distance opposite to the gifts as well, signifying both the ended struggles and the new ones in store for this new status quo). And all of this is portrayed without a single word of dialogue. This indeed is their first night. And what's more, it is Hatice's first night, even though she has been married before. Now it is a wanted night in a wanted marriage that only gives her hope and life and drives her to actually believe in the unattainable from this point forward, hence the whole sensation is so novel and raw and pure.
{And right before we also have Gülfem getting the gratitude and acknowledgement she deserves as a bonus, along with the future omen of Ibrahim not fully delivering on his promise to Gülfem in the future, yet the first night coming next remains untainted even so. Honestly, what more could you want?}
the nest of the bird´s heart is made out of your hair, wherever I am, my heart is with you
Ibratice´s hand kissies compilation (it may be missing some but well I tried)
For the fave characters pleasant ask - how do you imagine Ibratice first meeting and their early relations in Manisa? How and when do you think they fell in love? 🌷
Thank you for the ask darling <3333!
So, based on the bits we saw of them in Manisa, I can only imagine their dynamic there as a daydreamer little Hatice having an innocent childhood crush on Ibrahim because of his figure as Suleyman's savior & talented companion and, ofc, her need to find some refuge from the scary reality surrounding her (after all, the flashbacks show her very scared on the carriage and, once in the palace, she turns to look at Ibrahim the minute her mother and Suly start discussing the threats to his life and the uncertainty under Yavuz' rule). I can see her finding him a peaceful person, outside from all the doom and palace rules she knew, as much as Suly did (unfortunately, they have a very similar taste 😭) and cherishing him as some "escape" for that too, maybe interchanging some small talk with the guy sometimes (as she did in Hafsa's flashbacks) but not more than that, as she wasn't only a very quiet girl (possibly hiding her feeling as much she did in s1a), but also a very obedient one ("I always followed the path you and my mother deemed right for me") and I don't think Valide would have left her go too far from her radar either. Things could´ve changed with her first betrothal and then marriage, since I feel Hatice would have tried to make things work or expected for her husband to grow on her, as when she recalls these events she´s rather sad of not even having the opportunity to really get to know him (plus, again, it makes sense for her early characterization as someone with an extreme respect for her family´s decisions even if she clearly didn´t love the guy), and that would mean to let go of any possible illusion or dream with her brother´s companion, only some fondness and admiration remaining, as seen with her smile when Ibro is first mentioned in e1.
Ibrahim clearly never picked on that crush nor corresponded it because, needless to say, she was a child, but also, even as she grew up, I don´t think he could ever imagine himself being seen as other thing outside of Suly´s shadow and he repressed any potential desire to be more than that at that point, starting the show as loyal and obedient as Hatice. Still, I think he was fond of Hati and her interactions empowered him to feel like he belonged to Suly´s family, after all he´s pleasantly surprised to be seen and talked to in the flashbacks instead of being completely left behind. It was only in the conditions of s1, when there´s a new found "stability" under Suleyman´s reign that Hatice could truly dare to dream again and make a move on Ibro, and, giving his confusing and now more distanced position in regards to the Sultan that makes him look back at his origins, at the person he was before Suly, that Ibrahim can also dare to be his own person, have his own dreams, and therefore perceive & accept Hatice´s advances. Because of all of this, I can´t think of their first meeting in Manisa as a very significant moment and I´m kinda struggling to answer the first question, I suppose Suly presented Ibro to everyone once he brought him with him to the palace and the newcomer respectfully saluted them too, with Valide feeling a little concerned (in the way Mahi was when Taslicali was introduced too) over this new acquaintance and his rare closeness w her son & Hati being curious and excited about having someone new with them. It would´ve been kinda cool if her (mental) reaction to Ibro was similar to the one she showed when she met Hurrem, not only finding him pretty but also interesting in contrast to her mother´s defensiveness to the stranger.
Going back to their dynamic in Topkapi, it´s hard to pick an exact scene where they fell in love because I think it was all a process of getting to know each other that never really stopped even after marrying, as they were both much more traumatized and complicated than they could ever imagine and it truly took its time to finally recognize and accept each other for who they were. Still, I´d say for Ibro feelings started when she surprised him in e2 by asking not for Mustafa but for Ibrahim´s possible exhaustion, making him not only feel seen but also cared for and admire her gentleness. Ofc, also the "please do" of their first secret meeting with which she confirms she wants to be put in the "difficult position" he apologizes for starting only makes him fall him deeper as he´s reassured he finally belongs with someone to a bond that isn´t touched by the rules, hierarchies and threats of the palace (to this feeling also helps her interest in his violin, that ties her the most to his origins, and the fact that, in her, he finds a muse for his dolce stil novo inspired poems). Hatice´s crush on him was obviously renewed when she saw him playing violin from her balcon, and I think she really fell in love when he risked himself to see her in their secret meetings and via his beautiful poetry as well, she was always passionate about his art & the feelings it transmited from the days where his violin brought her peace in Manisa and now his pieces were dedicated to her, she had to be excited to be seen and cared for too! And ofc, the feeling only deepened when his advances and promises started to slowly bring her hope that she had the chance to start the life she always wanted, to take control of it and be heard as her own person and not only Valide´s shadow too.
