I have an IB biology exam tomorrow and I’m not ready at all and I’m exhausted. Time to make another cup of strong tea and cry.

[ 3/100 days of productivity ] || 25.7.2018 (late post sorry ;-;) we're starting our formal writing assessment for french ab initio soon and I'm,,,,,stressed,,,, mainly because I feel like I have no interesting perspectives and my vocab is really bad sigh ♫ Si jamais j'oublie - ZAZ
Bio studying for exam season also with super messy notes ahah
My favorite (study) Spotify playlists
For all of you who love listening to music while studying.
[ 8/100 days of productivity ] || 30.7.2018 (sorry for not keeping up with this, I didn't have anything to photograph since everything was online...) I'm still reviewing the first few units of math, more so to decrease the amount of time I spend on these easier problems. none of my formal assessments are done but I'm staying afloat with daily work... despite this mess I acted on impulse and started the Korean course on Duolingo lmao its actually interesting because I need to get back into noticing details (whereas with the Chinese course 80% of the time I already know how the words look so its mainly just for practice). ♫ Gravel to Tempo - Hayley Kiyoko
5.6.2018 || exam week!!!! I really think I did super badly on bio and the real final ib exams are in less than six months rip (at least I have notes?) there are just so many things to remember, especially since I'm taking HL smh... I have ESS and my french ab initio interview tomorrow at like, 8am, and I'm cramming lmao ♫ love4eva - LOONA yyxy (stan loona)
Foreign exchanges and their impact on learning a language
*isn't not doesn't...don't blame me I stole this meme
All IB students will go through the same task of having to learn a second language. Some will not struggle with this since they are linguists, however for a lot of us this process is horrendous and we will have to push ourselves hard if we want to achieve the final mark we deserve.
That is not to say that we are doomed to fail instantly, it just means you need more opportunities to practice and learn the language. A great example of one is to visit the country the language originates from.
A foreign exchange is amazing to help you learn the language you are studying. When you go over to the area where that language is spoken and are completely immersed in it, you develop your knowledge quickly. You have to! I say this with experience since this has post has been written in Germany by a pasty British girl who has learn more in a few days in this country than she has learnt in a few weeks...why am I speaking in 3rd person?!?
😶Anyways...
What you gain from an exchange is:
. Better listening skills
. Better verbal skills
. An increased vocabulary
. New foreign contacts
. A better understanding of what your ability is
But most importantly:
YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME LEARNING
So if your school has an opportunity to go to a different country, take it! And if you can't do one through your school, organise one yourself, there are plenty websites that aid students in doing these programs and trust me IT IS WORTH IT!

Completed/Ongoing Work
Ok, as promised here is a little taste of what’s going on in my life: HL Literature Mock/Final IOCs
I had my mock IOC last week, in which I scored a 24/30 (6) in it, I was really happy with that and hope I can push over the boundary into a 7 for my final in a few weeks.
Chinese Interactive Orals
Completed 1/4 of my interactive oral for SL B Chinese, in which I scored a 7.5/10 (6) which I am super happy about because Chinese is my weakest subject at the moment.
History IA
I have to submit my History IAs soon and I am, hopefully, doing mine in Cold War tensions. The IA is a 2200 word essay.
History End of Topic Essay
In the next few weeks, I have to complete a Paper 2 on my two independence movements, Algeria and India.
Extend Essay proposal
Sent in my EE proposal for World Studies, on homeopathic medicine and/or use of psychological treatments in the medical world.
Psychology Practice IA
Completed a practice IA in Psych in which I got a 7, which I am happy about!
Biology Practice IA
Completed a practice IA in Biology as well, haven’t got my score back yet though.
Math Studies
Did two math test, in which I scored 7s in both.
And finally... Internal Exams are rapidly approaching in which my grades help determine my predicted grades for University applications!
So that’s my exciting school life :’)
