AU Starter for @sociieties

Izana had grown used to being at the orphanage, and he was sort of okay with that. Okay, he wasn't, but he had gotten to meet Kakucho and he had decided to be the others' 'king' so he knew he'd protect him if he could. That was another reason that Izana was seen racing up to the other, grin wide on his face as he quickly grabbed Kakucho's hand, practically dragging him behind him with little explanation.

"Come on, Kakucho! We have somewhere to go! Let's go home! Come on!" He chuckled, disregarding the shouting from Shinichiro.

Shinichiro had finally gotten the okay after the decision of bringing Izana back to the Sano home where they could take him in and raise him along with everyone. It was the least they could do. He had even okayed the idea of Kakucho coming along with Izana so the two didn't have to part ways. So now, he was watching as Izana almost made the other young boy trip a few times, shaking his head. "Izana! Don't make him fall!"

Everything was so loud. The lights were too bright, the beeping was too high pitched, even the footsteps from nurses and the other residents were too loud. Everything was sore, and his body felt like lead along with feeling like an experiment with how many wires were now connected to him. His eyes were half opened while he tried to adjust to the light of the room, attention turning over to Kakucho before a raspy voice followed.

"I.. don't see why.." He admitted in shame, voice cracking some due to the dryness of his throat. "Tried.. to turn.. against you.. should.. be.. hating me instead.." After everything Kakucho had done for him through the years, the way he had his back without a second thought, and he had snapped and even tried to turn on Kakucho as if he was nothing all along. That, that was something he wasn't sure he'd know how to forgive himself for.

Izana stared at the sky as he leaned back on the roof, quiet exhale leaving his lungs as he took note of how few stars there were. "Hey, Kakucho.. You ever notice how few stars there always are on full moon nights?" He hummed, tilting his head. "Kinda makes you think, huh?.. You know.. Maybe the people who left are up there watching us still. But that'd be a bit cruel, wouldn't it?" He hummed, turning to glance at the other male beside him. "If something ever happens to me.. Don't dwell on it, yeah? I'll protect you as long as I can, so I know that way, when I do go then it'll be a worthy and proper death. Just.. Just remember me somehow, yeah?"

Izana knew standing up so soon after a fight was a mistake, but he couldn't just lay on the ground from exhaustion all day. He hadn't expected the opponent to actually be a tough one though, so that was on him but he still won. That was what counted. Sure, the other person may not be around, so to speak, and it'd be a pain to have to clean up but he had people for that. So it wasn't really a concern. Although almost soon as he got up, he was going back down until he felt an arm catch him and steady him, violet eyes looking up to meet those of the person he practically knew as his best friend. There's a weak chuckle followed by a smile- A small one, but it's there pulling at the corner of his lips. "Guess it's a good thing you're used to this, huh?" It's a tease, obvious by the tone in his voice, although it's also clear how exhausted he still is. But he couldn't stay here forever.

“Cry. Scream. Break something if you need to. Just… you need to process this somehow.” // kakucho to izana

A hand goes up in dismissal. Sure, processing it and letting it out was the healthy way to do things, but that wasn't Izana's style. Something ingrained in him about not looking weak or something. Whatever it was. So if just letting it eat at him so other people didn't know was how it worked, so be it. "I'll be fine, Kakucho. It isn't the first time and won't be the last." Could be the worst, maybe, but that wasn't the point. "Besides, if you push something deep down far enough, you'll eventually have to forget about it." So he could tell himself. Didn't work that way, but sounded good.
