It was normal to deal with any disturbances while taking walkabouts, and being prepared for anything was an old habit for an ex-general. That’s why Alex was a hard man to surprise; old habits die hard. 

He and Sigmus were returning home from a city practically on the other side of the world. Alex was relieved to be returning to familiar territory, while Sigmus examined the environment around them.

The giant Mech didn’t notice the little bot at first, but once a reading came up on his sensors, he looked down. Curious, Sigmus bent down, and reached for the tiny creature.
