Sure, her performances were some of the greatest, but there comes a time where another rising star needs to shine more. Arms cross over his puffed out chest, arrogance pouring off of that ego of his when it came to performances.

The moment his head turns to see the distance that has grown between the two as they traversed through unfamiliar areas, not as paved as the roads of Magnolia Town. As if in true element had Gajeel been moving through it with little issue. Perhaps because of his larger stature, pulling himself upwards to the next spot over without second thought.

Entertained to see the distance, he lingers to let her close off the distance first. " Seems like y'got to get another growth spurt to move as fast as me, " he comments, grin wide with a snicker shortly following. " Maybe a bit of extra muscle on ya too. Her voice grants pause to the mage's departure. Hand halfway reaching for the door, foot in mid step into her entryway. Thoughts partially cooked up of how he would spend the remainder of the evening ( likely wandering, seeking out some junkyard for a midnight snack before turning in ) now batted away by the thought of staying. His head turns, enough so for a ruby hue to catch sight of her standing there.

For a moment, he wondered if it was just her being courteous. Feigning further hospitality when he is often met with expressions that couldn't wait for him to leave. He instilled fear by presence alone once upon a time. Yet, he knows it's no longer that. & he knows that he is not so easily ushered away by these people either. His head turns back towards the door, weighing his options before he speaks.

" Guess y'really enjoyin' my company to ask me to stay, " he says, humored grin growing on his face as he turns his body to her. " Ain't like I got anyone waitin' for me. Seems like y'want me to stay. Just don't start regretting it now that y'got me all night. "
