"Figures Musashi started to fall for it." Smoking and grumbling Kojiro in the corner. At least he snapped out of it in the end unlike some people.
@theircurse asked: ' What's that for ? ' They ask, pointing at the other's swords ( Kojiro )
"Where did you---" He looked around for a moment then back at the child. He hadn't seen them approach at all! He puts his hands ontop of the hilt of one of his swords, looking down at them for a moment. Should he really stick around and explain it to a child? There could be other Oni in the area - but maybe that was a reason to stick by their side for a bit longer, so he decides to speak up.
"One of these is my dad's old one. I don't really use it, it's sentimental." He decides to start with, giving a small shrug. "The other one is my Kitetsu sword, the one I fight off Oni with." He doesn't take the sword out completely, but he lifts the hilt out of the sheath some, showing off the blue and silver blade for a brief moment before he put the sword back in its proper place.
"I'm fine---" He could only keep that lie up for a moment before he hissed in pain, falling back down to his side. Well, shit. He wouldn't hear the end of it if Musashi found out, so he tries to push himself up again-- only for the same result to occur. "Shit."
@yeonban asked: 'calm down, you are safe' Naotora to Kojiro!
send 'calm down, you are safe' for my muse's reaction. | Accepting!
Damn it. He probably looked like a fool - rushing out of the area in a panic like that. It didn't help that he had been surrounded by a crowd, which he was also not used to. He was used to being an outcast. He was used to having stones and trash thrown at him. Having people speak badly towards him. Hell he's used to having people threaten his life or being in danger in general. He's not used to the positive attention he's been getting as of late, no matter how much he craved it. What a contradiction he was.
They were coming to congratulate him, raising their hands to give him a high five or to put their hand on his head or shoulders. But all he had seen was someone raising their hand to hit or throw something at him. With the adrenaline from the previous fight still in his system - he ran.
"Mhm." He acknowledged Naotora's presence and words, but still kept his head down as he ran a hand through his hair. He was shaking, he realized a moment later. He grasps his hands together, as if trying to force himself to stop shaking. After a few moments of standing in silence, he leans forward, his head resting on Naotora's armor.
"I just--- I just need a moment." He barely says above a whisper, despite wanting his voice to be stronger than that.
yes, he's sulking, no one talk to him.
Anon asked: Kojiro, how would you rank the grand generals? You can use any criteria you want

"Are you trying to get me sent back to the labor camp?!" He hissed in a hushed tone before giving himself a moment to calm down. Okay, there didn't seem to be anyone in earshot who would care-- So maybe it was okay to answer?
"Hojo is the one I feel closest with - If only because he was the only one to know my dad. Even if we were struggling to figure out what my dad wanted from us - it was just, nice to hear about him from another perspective." Kojiro shifted slightly, wondering how much he should say. "He's a nice enough guy too, though a bit overbearing as a big brother. But maybe that's just how big brothers are supposed to be." He wasn't sure. Musashi was like a brother to him sure, but they grew distant and then came back together, and he wouldn't admit he was having a hard time figuring out how to be like a brother with him again.
"Naotora is next, I guess. I feel like I can learn alot from him, and he's the one I've known the longest." It was simple enough to explain his feelings for the older blue soul. "Him and Musashi butt heads sometimes but I know he respects Naotora too and so do I. It's obvious he's done alot to get where he is today, and I'm hoping I can learn from him." Like other new blue souls, he had been feeling rather down that he was 'common' but Naotora inspired him just like he had done the rest.
"Soma and Tokugawa I don't know very well so iId rank them about the same. But I do have a bit more respect for Soma. Not because Tokugawa is bad or anything! Soma has just -- done more for me and Musashi." He remembers when Soma said all those things to Musashi. While it had irritated Kojiro at the time, he later figured out that Soma was just saying what Musashi was thinking, and wanted him to work through his issues. "I'd like to get to know them better if the opportunity presents itself."
"Tatsuomi is last because honestly, I haven't forgiven him for the labor camp thing." Kojiro said bluntly. "I respect him, but it doesn't mean I have to like him. Naoe-sensei trusts him, so I do as a result. He hasn't really earned it himself yet as far as I'm concerned." Also he might be a little bit bitter that him and Musashi were split up to different squads. After being distant, then close again, only to be separated again? It hadn't felt right to Kojiro. Maybe that was a petty reason to be upset with the man, but it was a reason all the same.
@yeonban asked: "whatever they said about you, they were wrong." Naotora, placing a hand on Kojiro's back while they talk about Kojiro's traumatic childhood.

In a way, it felt nice to have someone else besides Musashi know the troubled history he had in that mining town. It felt nice having someone else know the real account of his father's fate, even if it wasn't what a hero like him deserved. He had been feeling so amny things since learning more about his father, that coming out to the corners of the camp and crying for awhile had become normal. He hadn't expected to be sitting down with one of the generals and spilling his guts, though.
"Yeah, I know that now." He tried to at least keep it in mind, at least. But it was easier said than done. He had heard those awful words everyday for 16 years. It would be a long time before he could completely put them out of his mind. They both knew that.
Or at the very least, if Naotora didn't know before he definitely did now, as Kojiro flinched ever so slightly under his touch. It was brief, but it still happened the moment the general had placed his hand on Kojiro's back. He hates how he can't even have a comforting gesture anymore.
"I'm more mad about what they said about dad, now that I know more about him." He turned the cigarette over in his fingers before sighing. "He doesn't even have a grave I can visit. They said he didn't deserve one and I just...--" He hates that he had grown to almost adopt the same mentality of those people. Good things Musashi came over to his hut when he had or else...he might not be here today.
"I can't forgive them. Any of them." He speaks softly now, as if he doesn't want this part to be heard. "Is that bad? They are just victims in the end, aren't they? Being forced to worship the oni like that." Most of the town just didn't know any better. The officials were scum that deserved to die, probably - but the everyday people didn't deserve that kind of wrath. But still...Kojiro couldn't help but hate everyone there.
