Chuck had asked him if he wanted to stay here while he was off to a short visit on Earth. Bruce hadn’t minded it, not at first, but when he woke up from his nap, nightmares still so very, very vivid in his head, things finally started breaking through, getting to him. He started shaking and all but bolted out of the house, over to the nearby woods, where he could breathe and try and calm.
The beeping went off in his head, not stopping, and he knew that his heartbeat was too fast, that he had to calm down.. But he couldn’t.
Fingers clenched into the bark of the nearby tree, breaking it as he curled them, the strength behind it unfathomable. His whole body seemed to tense up, to hold back as much as he could as he tried to remind himself to breathe, breathe, breathe, but it was too late. The veins in his arms colored in an ugly, toxic green that went from his wrists up into his arms, into his body. It broke through, causing muscles to stiffen and his body to enlarge as pain shot through him. Bruce cried out, groaning, but he couldn’t stop it from getting lower, darker, larger.
Bruce slowly vanished and instead, the Hulk came out, roaring and immediately starting to smash everything in his sight, luckily away from the house and towards the mountains in the distance, leaving a trail of destruction.
