Meeting a ShadowHunter
Sam silently weaved through towards the small church house at the back where a single window let out the small glow of light within. Her heart still hammered from chasing after the pack of vampires with the talisman, reaching the door she took in a slow deep breath then shoved the door open and quickly took aim at a brunett that had been lounging in a chair.
The stake went through him, and the image shattered. The true vampire stood with that of a 10-year old girl blocking the view of the two crouched on the ground muttering incantations.
"Hunter!"
Two of the vampires kneeled in front of the floor littered with talismans and markings.
The woman, Monique, dressed in a blood red dress held a necklace in her dark hand and continued to mutter a chat. She remained focused on the chant, not missing a beat even when the stake clattered to the stone floor.
Beside her Marco stayed only on one knee his fine suit creasing in the position. He carefully drew a pattern on the ground, only sparring a brief glance to the intruder.
The snarl on the girl's face was jarring considering how she looked. The, Beatrice looked to be the youngest, seemingly turned when she was only 10 or so. It was as if she had been a doll that came to life: porcelain skin, carefully curled blonde hair, and a beautifully crafted pale blue dress.
She was in a defensive position alongside the brunet called Claude, who was already forming another replica of himself. His brown suit was slightly tattered and the replica was identical to himself, but instead was in a crouch gripping at the ground.
Sam let her cross bow swing to behind her back, still strapped across her shoulder. Her voice was devoid of any humor when she murmured, "I hope you were not trying to lose me." The crouching clone smirked, "I can not object to a quick meal." Suddenly a bright white light appeared behind the vampires, the portal had opened and the air grew noisy with a loud wind pushing from the light. The attention of the three swiftly switched to the portal and Marco and Monique who stood holding hands, the light nearly engulfing Marco. He talked, but it was impossible to see his face, "You can have a meal later, come here."
The crouching image dispersed as Claude took Monique's hand. Beatrice turned and Sam quickly moved right at an angle towards Beatrice preparing to stake her. The small vampire's head jerked around and she hit Sam who practically flew and bounced off the wall letting out a pained sound before catching herself. The blow to the back of her head caused the clearly defined figures to becomes shapes and blurred colors, which took time to slowly define itself. A pale blue shot to her and Sam prepared to dodge, but someone's voice called out sternly, "Beatrice!" Sam blinked and saw what may have been a grimace on the small face, before she joined the others who all disappeared into the light.
Sam took a step towards the portal, her leg momentarily buckled beneath her weight. Sam grit her teeth and ran towards the portal, she shut her eyes against the intense light and felt her hair sharply hitting her face for a few seconds before the wind and light disappeared and she felt herself falling.
Her body made a dull thud when she hit the ground, and she scrambled to her feet and spun around, large black dots speckled her vision. She blinked till she could see that the group was long no where in sight. Sam let out a sigh and sat down with jerky movements. The heels of her hands rubbed at her eyes trying to completely clear her vision as she muttered to herself, "Joy, they're gone."
