Love and Hip Hop and Losers and Engagements

SO I'm watching Love and Hip Hop (you can stop reading now if you've ever seen this ridiculous show... you prob know where this is going) and Jim Jones finally proposed to the woman in his life. fine. thats cute. yay. congrats

Heres how it went down. He gives this big ol' interview to the camera about how shes been there through thick and thin and yadda yadda. then he takes out the box while shes sitting down and hes standing up and just opens it. she cries, he asks, she says yes. she then goes in the next room and all her friends and fam are there. yay! thats cute

Heres where I'm confused. so in her personal interview shes crying and saying that this means the world to her and for him to go out of his way, put his pride aside, and do this aka ask her to marry him and invite her fam over, just proves that he puts their love above everything and she's so lucky to have him. and even if they never get married, they're married in her heart and what he did that day is enough to last a lifetime. THEN he gives his own personal interview and says "you deserve it kid! you really do"

UMMMMMMMMM LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL what? First of all lmaoooo he didn't do anything that great. can we put this all in perspective? she stuck by him through the good, bad, ugly, females, lies, jail time, allllll of that. not only did she not leave but she devoted her LIFE to make sure that he had everything he needed. what did he do in return? called up a couple people and ask her what he should have asked her YEARS ago? granted i get it, it may be hard for him to make that commitment but DAMN come on now. If this was the other way around and she was out doin whatever she wanted to do, would he have stuck by her side?? YEA RIGHT.

Next, what does she mean by if they never get married his asking her is enough. ummm NO ITS NOT. if you're not MARRIED, you.are.not.MARRIED. WTH does "married in my heart" even mean LOL smh. not just in the hip hop world but in general i see this alll the time with girls who call boyfriends "hubbies" and such. if you are not married, you are not married. he prob just asked her to shut her up. who proposes without intent to actually marry? guys who wanna keep a girl around and shut her up, thats who.

Lastly, wth does he mean by "you deserve it kid!" he SHOULD have said that hes lucky to have her and doesnt deserve HER. stop congratulating her and acting like YOU made all her dreams come true. get over yourself! I wish a guy wooooould say something like that to me smh. 

Honestly, every couple operates in a different way and I get that. But generally speaking, as women we need to expect more from our partners. IF you dedicated ur whole life to them, shouldnt they do the same? and shouldnt it matter to you if he really wants to marry you or not? and getting engaged should be the happiest time for BOTH of you, why doesnt this make his life complete too? Well props to her for finally getting that engagement ring, but i hope he decides to give her more than that and idk actually marry her and treat her like a partner. cause well, she deserves more than just that moment.
