Dean is a prince, in his own right.
He seals his kisses with quickened blade, and his lips are frozen tundra; the blue of a dusky sky long left to ash.
His crown is shaped from the bones of the broken; fashioned from distaste and discourse; a menagerie of scattered charcoal and half-sobbed prayer.
He is deconstructed. His fingers melt and his eyelids crumble. He is burning, ever burning: a candle with fathoms of wick. His wax turns those blue, blue lips to white.
Black smoke whispers in his ear, and he disintegrates.
"Again."
It creeps along his shoulder, the hand of a proud father.
"Again."
The blade sings sharp against skin and fog. He exults; he licks it clean.
"Again."
Ah, the ice king reigns; taught by one, sought by many. And he grips the stone and drops his heart, and it shatters along with the rest of him.
