How long would Icarus and Helios survive together in the apocalypse

Icarus anon, hello! I think it depends on the kinda of apocalypse

All that’s left in the world kind of disease apocalypse? If they survive the initial outbreak I think they could make it a long time

Walking dead kind of zombie apocalypse? I also think they could make it a good while

The last of us kind of zombie apocalypse? I mean there’s a chance but it’s significantly less of a chance then the two I mentioned before

A war kind of apocalypse? I think it would really depend on where they are and how it goes down

So yeah, I think they have the survive skills needed to make it but it really depends on the context

Were Icarus a poet, what would he be known for writing about? Do you think he’d be more attracted by traditional/formal verse or modern styles? It’d be cool if you tried writing a little poem from his perspective !

I feel like if Icarus were a poet he wouldn’t be known for writing about one thing, I feel like he would write about such a large range of things because I just can’t picture him sticking to writing about a limited amount of topics. He doesn’t seem like the kind to limit himself nor be limited to writing about anything in specific constantly.

As for his writing style I think he would be attracted by more traditional styles. But I believe that his actual writing style would be an interesting combination of more traditional and more modern styles. I can picture him writing the more traditional part because studying art must teach him to appreciate the older and more traditional things. But also I think Icarus would draw him more modern writing styles just to create something new and interesting and different.

ICARUS SPOLIERS AHEAD!!

I love how much love there is in this book. Icuarus loves all his friends/acquaintances whatever and he find beauty everywhere he has so much love in his heart and if knows that or not is a different story but also his friends love him back they care deeply and notice even if they don't talk about it "we were going to go nuclear for you" like they saw him and were planning for him and it so beautiful

What would icarus think of the louvre heist?

I think he probably would have found it upsetting that someone stole art from a museum, where art is supposed to be admired, (presumably) only for the money. (and probably that breaking in while it was broad daylight was really stupid lol)

icarus fancast! i want every little character…

Oh no, making my own fancasts is like my worst nightmare because I swear I can never find anyone that looks even slightly like how I imagine the characters 😭

I’ve never successfully made a fancast that I like and I fear this absolutely won’t change it because I have such specific ideas of how every single character looks and there’s absolutely no way I can figure out how to fancast them anywhere near well enough to not hate anything I come up with

If any of the other like 10 people in this fandom on tumblr have fancasts I’d loveeeee to hear them but unfortunately I don’t think I can give a good fancast

Omg yay!! It’s literally one of my favorite books I’ve ever read, like I think about it at least a hundred times a day and some of the lines from it have stuck with me so much, like they’re engraved into my soul. I hope you end up loving it as much as I do <3

Another Icarus ask for you:

Helios and Icarus’s names are pretty on the nose (I know there’s a cannon explanation). If you were to rename them with something subtler but still meaningful, what would you choose?

Alsooo do you have any plans to write an Icarus fic?

I think it’s really hard to rename the characters when their names are so symbolic. I lent my copy to one of my friends and after reading the back she literally said ‘I can sense the symbolism already’.

So yeah, honestly naming is one of those things that’s really hard for me and having to rename characters like very specifically is difficult but like this is a very vague answer but if I had to rename the characters I think I’d want to do something with the owlet moth (since it’s scientific name is admetovis icarus it still has the connection) and for Helios I feel like I’d want to do something more sunglint (when the sin shines on the ocean) than just the sun because in the original Icarus story it had both ‘the sun will melt your wings’ and ‘the ocean will damage them too’ and while I get the whole symbolism with Helios is with the sun I think it would be nice to tie in that part of the original tale.

Yeah so I don’t have like actual answers but uh those are my best ideas for like what I could base a name off of, I’m just coming up blank on actual names right now lol.

As for the fanfic! I’d love to write an Icarus fic but I honestly don’t know what I would write about… if you (or anyone seeing this) has any ideas for fics you’d like to see I would LOVE to write them! As for now I’ll continue thinking about an Icarus fic and if anything comes to me I’ll write it
