Icarus x Dio x M !! Gimme kid(s)!!

Ask and ye shall receive! I give you the gift of children! You get two only because I found two faces I liked, and decided not to choose between them.

Name: Anastasia Rosali

Gender: female

General Appearance: Anastasia looked like Icarus and Dio more than Michael, she had his eyes, but the rest of her was all their’s. Her shaping was Icarus, the same nose, the same jaw, if a little softer, and Dio’s colouring. The same straight, light blonde hair and pale skin. 

Personality: Anastasia was quieter than her siblings. More content to sit back and observe than to interact directly with anything. She liked stories– writing them, reading then, listening to any of her parents telling them. (Some of her favourite memories of being young were doing her homework at the theatre while Tata and Mama were rehearsing). It doesn’t surprise anyone when she takes after her them and goes into the theatre (she does costume design instead of acting though).

Special Talents: Because she’s their child, Anastasia knows a ton of languages (English, Italian, French, and Greek (both modern and ancient)). As well, she isn’t actually all that scared by the scary things that go bump in the night, she might not know magic, or have any control over the shadows like either of her siblings, but she took after Michael in that she was really good at researching things.

Who they take after more: Icarus (and Jessamine for that matter).

Personal Head canon: When she’s older, she ends up dating a vampire.

Name: Dorian Rosali

Gender: male

General Appearance: Dorian is very much their child. His features were a cross between Michael and Dio, with hair that was just a little bit less than Icarus’. taller than Michael and his sisters, but shorter than Icarus and Dio. Dorian’s eyes were a much more faded out shad of blue than any of his parents.

Personality: Dorian, rather like both his sisters, is unafraid of the things that go bump in the night. He grew up with the VM as a family pet, and with decent regularity, some demon creature would invade their home. (Apparently before they got the VM, is was harder to deal with them). He and Delilah were more interested in the unknown, and while she went for powers more like Baba’s, Dorian liked the actual occult-like magic more. As a teenager, he got into music. 

Special Talents: While outwardly quite normal, Dorian has some mild skills with magic. He’s by no means some master of the mystic arts, but it’s enough for him to banish an eldritch abomination if he has to.

Who they take after more: Icarus

Personal Head canon: He and Anastasia are twins, but he’s closer with Delilah. Both of them are a bit more outgoing, and a bit more likely to poke at the unknown with a sharp stick, but more than a few times, their parents have found all three children asleep, piled around an old tome.

Name: Ignatius Drake

Gender: male

General Appearance: Ambose very much took after Icarus in terms of appearance. He was tall with a head of sunny blonde curls and the same sad eyes. His features were Tim’s though, the same hands, the same face just in the wrong palette. 

Personality: There was no doubt Ambrose was their son. He took the adventure Icarus had without the same level of tragic cynicism. As well, he had the same idealism that Tim did. The only thing he did struggle with was feeling like he fit in. A string of lovers to try and fill the void in his chest. He wasn’t a flirt, but he did things (sports, and theatre, and everything in between) to try and make him feel like his life had meaning. It wasn’t jaded cynicism, just a feeling of displacement. It gets better as he gets older, and he takes up Tim’s old hobby of photography.

Special Talents: Aside from recalling his last life, Ambrose has a natural gift for languages, as well, he takes over both his parents with a gift for numbers and figures.

Personal Head canon: Children had active imaginations, but every so often the active imaginations were memories. Ambrose remembers his last life. (He was one of the dying artists Icarus became the big brother to at the end of the 1980′s).

1902 - 1985 || Icarus

1902: Icarus is reborn as a middle class man, where he meets Daniel Lavoss.

February 1903: At a party Daniel brings him to, he meet Elizabeth Casey where they begin to send letters back and forth, striking up a genuine friendship and courtship.

August 1904: They get married, Daniel is Icarus’ best man.

June 1906: Icarus and Eliza’s son, Daniel, named after their friend, the person who led to them meeting in the first place, is born.

1907: Daniel marries Florence Mattin.

1910: Daniel and Florence move to America after Daniel is offered position of manager in another branch of the company he works for.

January 1912: Daniel sends a letter offering Icarus a job in America with the company. Icarus accepts the offer, and he, Eliza, and their son prepare to move. 

April 10th, 1912: Icarus, Eliza, and Daniel set sail on the Titanic. They have second class tickets, and for their son, its the most exiting experience. 

April 14th, 1912: The Titanic hits an iceberg, and begins to sink. When Icarus hears they’ve collided, he gets Eliza and Daniel on the first lifeboat he can. He’s not willing to risk them running out of lifeboats, or god-forbid, anything else go wrong.

April 15th, 1912: In the early hours, Icarus like so many others, dies in the Atlantic Ocean. His wife and child both survive where they will meet Daniel in New York.

April 18th, 1912: Icarus is reborn, once more. He comes back in America.

1914: Icarus volunteers to join the war effort. Technically, America hasn’t joined the war yet, but there’s always something and it’s a war, so he can throw himself into it in order to distract himself from the Titanic.

April 1917: America officially enters the War.

May 1917: The Selective Service Act of 1917 or Selective Draft Act allows for America to force conscription to create more troops. 

June 1917: Icarus meets Thomas Reade, a pacifistic poet who got conscripted. They fall in love and are together for several months, as they fight in the trenches.

March 1918: Thomas is killed during a battle.

May 1918: Icarus transfers to the newly growing air force. Planes are a useful tool, but still relatively new, and the use of them still has a high mortality rate.

October 1918: Icarus is shot down, and dies. 

October 1918: Icarus is resurrected again, and is able to get copies of Thomas’s poems. 

November 1918: Icarus assists with the war effort back home in America.

December 1918: Icarus joins in with the Jazz age, and the growing changes in society.

Bright Young Things - about Icarus in the 1920′s.

1921-1929: Icarus meets Hypnos, an on again, off again lover for the remainder of the decade. 

1924-1929: Icarus starts acting on Broadway. He prefers the musicals, but he does a lot of normal plays as well.

October 29th, 1929: Wall Street crashes, and with it, the global economy. The Roaring Twenties has reached its end, replaced with the Great Depression. 

February, 1930-1933: Out of work, Icarus takes a train to another city looking for work, it doesn’t work. He, and many others will pick up riding the rails, travelling the country in a search for work.

December 1933: Icarus contracts pneumonia and dies.

January 1934: Icarus returns to New York, as the New Deal begins to help settle the economy.

1934-1941: As the economy continues to improve, Icarus returns to performing on Broadway, and other smaller productions as the opportunity arises.

1941: America enters the Second World War. Icarus enlists as a pilot.

1942: Icarus is shot down in Germany and captured as a prisoner of war. 

1943: Icarus escapes the POW camp, before going back to being a pilot.

1945: Icarus is shot down, and dies in the explosion.

1946: Icarus comes back, this time as a baby, unlike previous lives where he is already approximately 20.

April 1963: Icarus meets Theresa Lane.

September 1964: Icarus marries Theresa.

1964: Their child is born.

December 1st, 1969: Icarus is drafted to Vietnam.

November 1971: A month from returning home (his time in Vietnam would be served) he is  shot and dies of infection a week later.

December 1971: Icarus is reborn and comes back as a child.

September 1972-May 1984: Icarus goes through the school system. he is mildly punk, and he learns how to skateboard.

September 1984: Icarus begins an engineering degree at NYU. As well as the academics, he begins working on early sketches for a new set of wings.

November 1984: Icarus meets Joshua, an artist trying to find his big break.

January 1985: Joshua and Icarus move in together.

tragic hero arc

we all know how this story goes. when it began, you were almost the perfect hero, but almost is never enough. you lacked introspection, or you were too stubborn or vengeful or reckless - as reckless as the world that helped to ruin you. you were not perfect, and that's okay. we knew the story ended in blood and we watched it anyway. we knew you would die in the end and we still couldn't help but love you, just a little bit. at the very least, you are more human than a hero could ever be.

THE CAN’T-IGNORE-IT ROOSTER

Roosters are those talented, creative, but somewhat eccentric people who make life interesting for the rest of us. Their bird-like minds are always on the lookout for stimulation and roosters display the characteristically high-energy behavior of their species. They are artistic, creative and sophisticated, with a thorough knowledge of fine wines, cooking, writing, theater and painting.

Roosters exhibit a decided theatrical streak as they strut their stuff in the latest fashions. Craving attention, their show-off attitude sometimes generates criticism from those close to them and their need to be the center of attention permeates every aspect of their busy life. When it comes to clothes, furniture and cars they only purchase the highest quality items and their excessive spending can land them in financial disarray.

THE ROOSTER IS ONE BLUNT BIRD

The rooster's active mind is always working on a way to create more drama in its life. Offsetting a feisty and competitive nature is a secretive and aloof side that manifests itself when it feels insecure. And yet, a rooster is a solid friend. Their blunt approach -- while sometimes hurtful and tactless -- can always be counted on to be honest and frank.

Roosters are in big demand at parties. With a witty repartee and an ability to easily mix, they flirt shamelessly while reveling in the glow of the spot-light. Concerned about how they are perceived by others, they are only happy if people are talking to or about them.

THE ROOSTER PERSONALITY'S CAREER APPROACH

Subscribing to the early bird maxim, roosters rise a little earlier than their competition and could even be accused of having their fingers in too many pies. The world is so fascinating to the rooster that settling down into any one career would be impossibly constricting. Unfortunately, their earning potential suffers in a competitive world that rewards specialization, but roosters succeed when they choose careers that present a variety of challenges, such as medicine, publishing, journalism or acting.

As a salesperson, a rooster is without equal and can sell anything from real estate to used cars. A hard worker with a keen eye for detail, its creativity and dedication make it a wonderful employee, but as a manager or business owner, the finicky rooster tends to alienate subordinates with its unrelenting enthusiasm. It is also not a particularly strong team player, and its perceived self-absorbed and sanctimonious attitude breeds resentment.

ROOSTERS IN THE WILD

Although it is uncertain when the domestication of this jungle fowl took place, it is generally thought to have happened around 2500 B.C. in Asia. In the 1920s, observation of roosters and chickens led to the discovery of the pecking order, in which the most dominant bird will peck any other bird without being pecked back. The second most dominant bird also pecks others without reprisal, except for the most dominant. This hierarchy continues until the least dominant bird is pecked by all.

Although this kind of social structure exists in most mammalian societies, including our own, it is still referred to as the pecking order because of its initial discovery in chickens.

LOVE & FRIENDSHIP

There's a touch of glamour in everything the rooster does -- for settling for less would be exasperating to the rooster's essence. Why take the train if you can fly? This philosophy pervades its personal life, for the rooster proves to be a perfectionist in the bedroom too. Of course, roosters are not above crowing if they feel that their efforts have gone unnoticed. But in the long run, partners have few complaints holding their rooster lover in the highest regard as paramour.

It would be tempting to describe the rooster's mate as being henpecked. Instead, a subtle and complex give-and-take defines this relationship. What the rooster demands with its attention-seeking behavior, it gives back by being an enthusiastic and supportive mate.

Roosters do not attract the shy retiring type and a relationship with this confident bird requires a thick skin and a love of the spotlight. Other bird personalities --particularly peacocks, eagles, and swans instantly bond with its brash personality, while spiritually minded elephants, bats, and owls find it to be irreverent and impertinent.

you are patroclus, from the iliad by homer, doomed by fate to be stuck in a love story that has no place on the battlefield. although you always have the best intentions, you have to realize you cannot save everyone. your unwavering loyalty means you often lose yourself in the process of putting others first. take a deep breath, remember who you are, and that you are deserving of the same love you try to put out. you are kind, you are strong, and you give and you give but it is never enough to protect those you love. in the end, it's not even enough to protect yourself.
