While I was out on a short shopping trip, I decided to take a ride over to the Zilwaukee Park to see how the fishing was going. 👇

Well, it looks like ice fishing is done for this year. Today the temperature shot up today to 55F degrees (13C) and it feels like late spring all of a sudden. You can see one boat out in the river, just above the small bench. I am not sure how he got it in there though. 👇

He sure didn’t use the boat launch, not unless he carried his boat. 😂

It looks to me like the boat launch isn’t quite ready. 🤣

If we're judging the cost effectiveness of food by how long it takes to eat then ice has gotta be at the top like those things are crunchy, come in huge bags and cost next to NOTHING

That Time The River Froze Over

During my college years two winters got so cold the surface of the river almost completely froze over (actually I think one of those winters it did completely freeze over). And I could see that there were a lot of cool ice formations, so...I got on my belly and crawled out onto the ice! I tested as I went, and neither fell through nor heard any cracks, but even still I don't recommend doing that. lol There was no one around. I would have been fucked. But I did get some cool pictures out of it. :) Anyway, the second time I didn't go nearly as far out. It was evening and I didn't want to push my luck quite that much.

All my photos, some edited for colour and contrast (not the blue ones toward the bottom--that was a filter on my camera; the less blue one with them was edited, though).

Eastern Region, Iceland

There are moments which keep me awake, for the beauty of a moment in time that you cannot re-create. You can spend days at Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon in Iceland, hoping for more of the same, yet every sunrise and sunset you see will be completely different. This photo was taken during a photography workshop around my home country of Iceland.
