I learned freezing rain under high wind is called ice needles. A nearby place that was hit by flooding today was under a major storm watch. Fun to see these phenomena in action, fun to experience life-threatening situations =)

I find the last one the most amazing. It looks like it hangs in the air, supported only by a tiny thread of ice.
