My wife convinced me to join ToastMasters this year, and a few weeks back I gave my very first speech. It’s called the Icebrearker which is an introductory speech letting people know about myself.

My speech was about how listening to Old Time Radio programs when I was very little led to my career in comics, animation, writing New Pulp Adventure stories, and now becoming a voice actor.

Breaking the Ice

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines icebreaker as something that is done or said to get through the first difficulties in starting a conversation or discussion.

Most of the times people start with a joke or topics involving common interests and hobbies. Others break the ice through games. But in the Toastmasters environment, we start with a SPEECH!
