So The Boyfriend and I had a Date today, and we decided to mix it up a bit and go somewhere we don’t usually go... hence, a truly lovely afternoon spent at Barry Island! We did get caught in the rain ☔️ and end up sheltering in a pub (not a bad thing, I enjoyed my vodka and coke 😂!) but not til after we’d eaten our yummy fish ‘n’ chips and ice cream on the seafront 🌊. I’m going through a rough patch right now tbh, but an afternoon with this one was just wonderfully happy 😊💑. You know it’s real love when everything is better when with this person, and when being with them is as easy as breathing... or even easier, in my case 😂! Thanks for being the wonderful kind, patient, funny, loving, caring person you are Blue, and for bringing me light, love, joy and laughter, even on dark and difficult days. I appreciate how amazing you’ve been recently; dealing with a sleep deprived, stressed and grumpy Amy isn’t easy (ask @caroline.davies350 , she knows 😂!), and you’ve done a fab job taking care of me. So this morning I had my Personal Independence Payment Assessment. I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't a fun experience. Talking about all the horrible parts of my condition for two hours just ain't my style. It was especially horrible to have to tell a total stranger that I was suicidal because of my condition last year, and to be forced to explain why in excruciating detail...to tell her how close I came to acting on those thoughts and feelings...to talk about the ways my OCD made me self harm...these are things I struggle to talk to my family, friends, and even my psychologist, about. Telling a total stranger was absolutely awful. And it was horrible having to talk about all the shit my condition puts me through every day...all the deterioration in the last year...all the things about my condition that are life threatening... just, horrible. But it's done now. And the lady who assessed me, whilst brisk, was not unkind or unfeeling. Hopefully the rest of these process is sorted out as quickly and smoothly as possible. Need to say a big thank you to my lead nurse, Mari, for being present for the whole ordeal. She made it bearable. She's an amazing lady ❤️ I'm gonna go eat ice cream in bed now 🍦🍦🍦!! I've bloody earned it! And here's the thing; in the words of one of my favourite books, only you decide what breaks you.
