Okay, so basically, whenever One makes a deal, the object benefitted gets slowly infected until they essentially become a mindless puppet under her control. It differs depending on the deal, but always ends mostly the same. Note that the infection only infects the benefited object, NOT the object she made the deal with. So, Robot flower is infected but not Basketball because while Basketball made the deal, Robot Flower was ultimately the one the deal affected.
Stage 1: objects appear normal, no physical changes have occurred. Mental state is hardly different than what is considered normal for the given object. Infection is concentrated in the area of infliction. This may be a number of things depending on the deal made. Objects with limbs given have it concentrated in said limbs while objects with more vague deals usually have it concentrated in their core or scattered in multiple places.
Stage 2: physical changes begin. Purple splotches begin to appear around the area of infection, similar to One’s colour but not quite. Symptoms such as muscle contractions in infected areas, slurred speech, dizzy spells, forgetfulness and/or fatigue start to show. Symptoms vary depending both on the object and deal, but these are the most common ones observed.
Stage 3: physical changes become more apparent. For objects with limbs gained by their deal, these limbs turn fully purple. For objects with mental conversion deals (see: Robot Flower) brain activity becomes erratic, as confusion and dissociation oc ours frequently. For those with more vague deals, it is hard to spot the infection, as the purple splotches retract to soon disappear at this stage. Objects start to gain puppet-like features, having clear lines along joints and at the mouth. Previous symptoms worsen, as well as gaining paranoia, insomnia, nausea, seizures, body aches, weakness, and brain fog at this stage. Infected objects still are in control at this stage, though fainting spells occur frequently.
Stage 4: objects have lost control of their bodies, which now act as a sort of hive mind run by One. Eyes turn a purple colour, similar to that of the previous splotches of infection. (Usually) objects lose the ability to speak coherently. Objects with affected limbs will gain more power in said limbs (ie: stronger legs, sharper teeth, claws on feet/hands, etc) when not being directly controlled by One, infected objects will go into a sort of hibernation, unmoving until receiving a command. It is unknown whether or not infected objects are coherent and unable to control their bodies or simply mentally removed at this stage.
