i’ll just do a past present future and when i turn over the future card i’ll pause, and my eyes will widen and a small gasp will escape, but i’ll quickly shake my head and put on a smile and be like “sometimes the future is best left unknown” and quickly hide the card from him

i was so ready to do Things last weekend ... why couldn’t that have been halloween??

it doesn’t help that all of the stuff is so very far out of my comfort zone so i’m just sort of bluh y’know

Hasley- Gasoline?

This reminds me of Emily aka Brightside, from Tights.

Brightside is a superhero. Emily is a lesbian with the most beautiful girlfriend. Her world deems both of her biggest loves illegal.

As Brightside, she manipulates light. She glows and burns and blinds, needs no mask because no one can see past the shine. Her partner keeps her balanced, keeps her good, because she fights for good even though she isn’t, and when she falls out of balance she leaves the bodies of the bad in her wake.

“You can’t wake up, this is not a dream,You’re part of a machine, you are not a human being,

Emily shrouds herself in darkness, layers of lace and pale makeup better than any civilian costume, because they have the added bonus of keeping everyone at a distance. She thinks she knows who Echo is when they’re not saving their city but she knows she only deserves Echo’s goodness when she’s actively fighting, so she never tells Rachel that she loves her even outside of costume.

She doesn’t like herself but that doesn’t give anyone else the right to do the same. She burns bridges before they’re formed, hates the new superhero in town because she takes nothing seriously. Her only friends are an Echo and a statue, and even the statue is better with people than her, more compassionate than her.

All Emily really knows how to do is burn.
