‘I’d thought you were beyond the point of needing me to oversee your administrative basics.’

His tone is neutral, nonjudgmental- it is a simple statement of fact, as he understands them to be. With a hand on August’s shoulder, he bends to examine the clauses in question.

‘It’s excellent work, otherwise. Well done.’

     The statement rubbed August the wrong way, naturally, but he managed to bite his tongue.  It was hardly a conscious effort-- it was how he was raised to behave towards Sebastien.  He was still one of the few people that August found it hard to protest against on everyday matters.

      Regardless, Sebastien had melded a perfectionist out of August where there otherwise may not have been one.  It was here that he always found himself a step too short.  Hard work had been beaten into his character, and while he often flourished, he always felt he wandered a struggling path.  It was a rigid process that he felt he had to keep reteaching himself.

     August didn’t look back at Sebastien, but rather kept his eyes on his work.  ‘Thanks,’ he said simply, before continuing to edit and readjust some things.
