Sperm was picked up by UPS at Cryos this afternoon. Its eta is by the end of the day tomorrow (August 23rd). I'll inseminate as soon as it arrives/ after my job interview. Now I just finished another evening shift. So I'm gonna head home and try to get some sleep! I'm very excited about tomorrow so that might hinder sleep, but on the other hand I am also quite tired after two evening shifts and two restless nights.
CD14! Time is flying this month/cycle! One would think time seems to pass extremely slowly when you've been sick, but that hasn't been the case. I'm enjoying a weekend off with nothing planned except church tomorrow. And Ive actually tried to get out of my church duties tomorrow as my parents thought of giving me tickets for a festival as my bday present. But alas I haven't managed to find someone to cover for me - so we're not going and my parents will have to find another present for me. I have two weeks left of my 20s. It's a strange thought. But a lot has happened in the last decade. I have travelled loads and educated myself. Earned two degrees and landed two full time jobs. Next week calls for evening shifts, job interview, insemination and weekend shifts at the hospital.
CD22 - 4DPO aka 2+4
If this month is successful, I’m currently carrying a blastocyst!
One week to predicted ovulation! I'm on CD12 today and will start taking OPKs on CD15. Semen ships on the 20th which is CD16
Who knows about your project?
When I first started out in the world of fertility treatment in late 2013, it wasn’t really a secret. My close family knew and my classmates knew. They were all supportive.
This time however, I’ve only told one friend. A classmate turned colleague. Mainly because she’s the one who inspired me to give at-home insemination a go.
I’m also (so far at least) keeping it a secret because I would really like to surprise my mum and the rest of my family! with the news of my pregnancy. They’ll be truly surprised and excited.
Project Fryd starts tomorrow!
Step one: Ovulation Prediction Kits!
Tomorrow is CD 14 (I have 30-32 day cycles) with the predicted ovulation to happen on CD19. So from tomorrow morning I’ll start taking OPKs until I get a positive test. Ovulation happens 24-36 hours after a positive OPK. I’m not doing any ICI-D this month, just tracking to see how accurate my tracker app is. So far my tracker app (I use Clue) has worked far better than any other app I’ve tried.
