So we had a class today, our yearly staff training. And we talked about Challenging Behaviors/Helping Children with Special Needs and Emotional Regulation. So, one of the activities we were split into groups to discuss what what makes us feel good, what are things that make it so we are happy and in a good place. What makes us feel unsure, where we are feeling tired, iffy, on that borderline of I'm gong to exploded and what makes us feel angry. What gets us wound up, uncomfortable, what makes us upset. The point was if we can see what triggers us, and what we do to self regulate and then we can in turn help children self regulate, help them find strategies to calm down. What's so great about our staff was that we were in all agreement, Mr. Cheeto (Instructors words haha love it!) makes us all upset and angry and in the red zone. Successful meeting!
