Frozen Yoghurt Icypoles

The warm weather is certainly here! 

Everybody loves something cold on a hot day, but icecream is not the healthiest choice to be having all the time. There are many healthier options that you can substitute. Frozen grapes, frozen watermelon and frozen bananas are great choices.

Another healthy option to try is frozen yoghurt, although be wary as the ones you can buy ready-made are usually quite high in added sugar.

These 'Frozen Yoghurt Icypoles' took less than 5 minutes and were very cheap to make. You can buy the moulds from most supermarkets and cheap shops.

I used Chobani greek yoghurt as it is naturally high in protein, low in fat and it also has no added sugar, but you can use whatever yoghurt you like. 

Method:

1.    Add the fruit to the mould first 

2.    Add the yoghurt on top and tap the mould down until the yoghurt has travelled to the bottom

3.    Continue to add yoghurt until the mould are full

4.    Put on the lid and freeze

Notes:

To get the icypoles out of the mould run them under hot water for 5 seconds and they should come straight out

I used mango and white nectarine in these ones, but you can use whatever you like. You can experiment with them by:

Adding different fruits

Pureeing the fruit first

Adding a little honey or maple syrup if you need more sweetness

Just freezing fruit with no yoghurt

Freezing smoothies or juices
