Was watching some folks ask a toddler to hand something over by simply saying 'ta' and reaching a hand out the other day, which is incredibly normal where I live, and wondered... does the rest of the English-speaking world do this?

Is it commonplace where you live to say 'ta' to ask small children to give you what they're holding?

Nuance - In a non-English-speaking country, but we do something very similar

I need to rant about this westher SO BADLYYYY. So, the temperature yesterday was mid-thirties. ALL DAY. It was disgusting. ☀️🌡🔥 And then, right, the sun set and the temperature just DROPS. To what? LIKE, 17 DEGREES. ❄ WHAT??? Anyways... In conclusion, the weather here is kinda terrible. (Coming from Australia in the middle of summer ☀️)
