Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards

We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

My biggest problem with this? There is no canonical database in the UK of citizenship status. That is not something that had ever been compiled (which is, to be fair, a significant difference from many other countries, which have kept such records since the end of the second world war).

I strongly suspect that compiling such a database would be the work of years, if not decades, and that in the meantime this government is going to do Windrush 2 by stripping citizens of their status if they can't meet whatever requirements are imposed to qualify for this thing. Anyone who's had to apply for a passport as an adult has likely had a taste of how potentially difficult that is.

Like their backstory, how other characters see them, etc.

Ok I’m actually surprised people are interested in this because I thought people would find it too “edgy” but ya sure!!!

I literally just came up with this AU like two days ago, so I’m still working out the kinks. Any ideas or head cannons or anything like that would be really cool to hear but I don’t know I just want to see them beat up abusers.

 Keeping in mind that these kids are still very young, they don’t even really understand the weight of abuse.  All they heard was that kids are in trouble and they need to help in anyway they can. And if that way is torturing pedophiles. That’s exactly what they’re gonna do.

(Half reason I came up with this AU was to cope with my own trauma. I don’t know what it is but imagining the KND beating up my dad for touching me as a little girl really brings joy to my life.)

their flimsy excuse is to curb illegal immigration but all the existing laws already cover what they say they'll do with it - so their only real reason can be to hand the cops extra powers over the public
