Daisy has been noticeably depressed since Huron got sick on Wednesday and was taken into another room. However, the vet was able to confirm that the infection Huron has is non-contagious, and he is feeling even better today! So I brought his hospital cage into the office today to see Daisy.
Huron hasn't made a peep since Wednesday morning but the second he saw Daisy he started cooing and wing flicking 🥺 Daisy has just been standing next to him or laying on the incubator since I moved him in. They are also now both back to eating!
Prior to this they had a very weird relationship (both were isolated from other doves their entire life before coming here, so aren't experts at being friends with other birds just yet, and further complicated by them both being boys) but it seems like they are definitely more bonded than I thought ❤️
