AIRING OPPORTUNITIES

The following opportunity shows should be considered to now be filming or airing depending on the status listed below. Prompts given will be specific to each show. WE GOT MARRIED. now filming. 1st filming session.

These two are expected to uphold a very traditional and sugary sweet romantic idea of what it means to be a married couple. Their first meeting will involve a dual scavenger hunt, which will lead them to a meeting place in the studio. They will solve clues throughout the broadcast station, all pointing towards different locations to find the subsequent clue, each with casual notations or references to their respective personalities or groups. When they solves the clues, they’ll be led to an unused studio, where there will be a picnic set up with snacks and music. This will be their icebreaker first date part one. After that they’ll have a stroll through a traditional market, leading to a nearby cafe and will then separate to film their interview portions regarding the first meeting. This prompt can be filled either via a thread referencing these events or a solo that integrates the following interview questions: What is your ideal type? Does your WGM partner match that type? what was your initial reaction? what do you think so far, after your first date?

ROMANTIC AND IDOL. now airing. 4th filming session.

This filming session is an extension of the previous filming on Jeju Island. Having now been split into pairs for the duration of their stay, they will be spending the next two days on various planned outings with their partner, depending on questionnaires filled out during the plane ride. THere are a few courses the dates may take, from hiking, bike riding along the coast, horseback riding, cafe and food tours, visiting waterfalls, and visiting the green tea museum or folk village! At the end of the 2 days of dates, they will prepare for the grand finale, the filming of which will also take place on the island. Essentially, consider the 3rd, 4th, and 5th filming session to have taken place concurrently on Jeju Island, much as the original show did IRL, in late April-early May, but divided up for the purposes of the rp.

With the pilot set to air early in June, the idols are expected to begin working their way towards the filming of the second and third episodes. Episode 2 gives the characters a glimpse into their pasts on the show, which provides the idols a chance to work with the child actors representing their younger selves. As the school is introduced and focus is narrowed in, we’ll move through introducing the majority of the cast in these filming blocks, which means everyone should be on the top of their game. Episodes will begin airing imminently and the pressure is on for everyone to deliver passable performances that can bring attention to their up and coming groups and careers. It is, also, an ideal time to begin networking with others!

UNPRETTY RAPSTAR. now airing. final filming session.

After a significant run, UPRS is coming to a close. This episode filming will cover the final three members of the show competing to perform a joint song, with each taking a verse, and a notable second generation female vocalist taking on the chorus and vocal parts. They’re all given the same amount of time to work on their verse and are not allowed to adjust the instrumental. Then, the final two will face off with their own performance over a beat given by a guest producer. This time they are allowed to make minor modifications. Live voting at the 200 person performance as well as via the televised audience through text votes determines the final winner. The finale will air in mid June.

With an impressive run, SMTM will be finishing up the season with this opportunity prompt. Similar to its sister show, the final three contestants will be battling it out. However, each is given the opportunity to perform with their mentor from the show on a shortened track. The same stipulations of not making adjustments to the beat are provided, and it will be performed in a similar venue, in front of 200 people, as well as televised live. The initial round of voting will eliminate one contestant, and the final two will go on to perform a rap done to a beat given by a guest producer (to which minor modifications may be made).  The final voting will determine the winner, with 50% from the audience present and 50% from the sms voting.

To break the ice and celebrate the early days of summer, the boys will be heading out to a pension in the countryside! They’ll take a nice hike, enjoy nature, and finally return to their lodgings,  where they will have the chance to cook a meal together (including grilling some delicious meat!) with each required to make a special dish for the other. After that, they’ll have the chance to sit around the fire pit on the patio and discuss the ups and downs of idol life, giving and getting advice in turn, from one another, and hopefully opening their hearts to one another more and more! This will of course be paired with the usual studio interview interspersed thereafter, which will be filmed once the boys return to Seoul. Filming will last for 1 night and 2 days. 

IDOL DRAMA OPERATION TEAM. now airing. 4th filming session (boy team and girl team).

As we approach the penultimate filming sessions, the teams will take on the hardest part of the process- recording and promoting their webseries! It will be a project that takes a good bit of time to complete, and thus the filming will be split over this and the next, final, opportunity prompt for the show. Interspersed with acting coaching moments and content from behind the scenes of the show, the teams will be spending time promoting via a fansign and filming the promotional spots for the webseries. These promotional spots will be between 10 and 30 seconds long and will be aired on the network to advertise the webshow, hosted on the network’s website. Get ready to act and promote your pants off, kids, we’re heading towards the grand finale!

As the show winds down, we find more and more of the episodes feature the interactions between the castmates. Playing games together, domestic activities, and volunteering opportunities are the name of the game. Today it is announced that they will be joint fostering three kittens until the end of the show. They’re tasked with preparing the house for the little kittens, purchasing the necessary items, naming them, and helping them get used to their environment in this episode block. They’ll also briefly volunteer at the shelter from which the animals came, as well as do a promotional photoshoot for adoption awareness.

With the two groups thus far tied, we face an enthusiastic response from the audience, who have submitted songs from current years for our newest challenge. The two teams have been assigned the most voted on submissions from the website, with the results as follows. The Blue Team will be working with their mentor’s choreography to perform Far East Movement’s Bang it to the Curb while the Red Team was voted to perform their mentor’s choreography for Imagine Dragon’s Radioactive. With the finale fast approaching, the result was left on a cliffhanger, with the members themselves still unsure of the outcome pending the final episode.

ROMANTIC AND IDOL. now filming. 1st filming session.

The contestants have finally been gathered and brought together for their initial interviews. At this point in the episode, contestants are unaware who will be participating on the show, and potential leaks have been kept under strict surveillance in order to cultivate the "true reality" concept the producers are after. With limited to no scripting and a pared back team, the idols are interviewed separately to detail their ideal types, ideal dates, and so on. At the end of the interview, muses will be asked to choose from a list of date locations. These include a specialty cafes, a museum, arcade/VR room, and a park. Depending on the location chosen, the idols will be paired together. Of course, within the real show this would be done without their knowing and there could be no overlapping locations (e.g. two people can't choose the park) but for the purposes of the roleplay, you're encouraged to reach out to your castmates and see what your muse is interested in and pair yourselves up from there!

UNPRETTY RAPSTAR. now airing. 2nd filming session.

With the first episodes having aired, covering the basic introductory interviews, initial rap demonstrations, and general judging and so on, the girls are expected to work together to write a rap for the title song and film a music video to go with it. Afterwards, the second filming set will set up a rap battle between the contestants who will be randomly paired together. There will be a group "constructive criticism" after the reveal of the final music video, clearly intended to stir up dramatics between the girls, and certainly likely to succeed in doing so.

The boys of Show Me the Money will be performing selections of their choosing, self written of course, for the judges one by one. At this point they will be given a rating and feedback on their skills, alongside the opportunity to divide the group into various teams, depending on the producers. You are able to "choose" the producer who picks up your muse, but we ask that you create an NPC name for them and not choose anyone currently claimable. Good ideas would be Dok2, Tablo, Tiger JK, etc. After being arranged into mentorship teams there will be, obviously, an interview segment to cover the events of the filming and reactions to the team they've been chosen for.

To take advantage of the winter season, the boys will head out to the mountains for a ski trip! This fun vacation will including ski lessons, tubing, and enjoying the winter views. After that fun workout they'll head back to the lodge, where they will have the chance to cook a meal together (including grilling some delicious meat!) with each required to make a special dish for the other. A newly airing show, IDOT follows young hopeful idols serializing their lives into a fictionalized version for the purposes of a webdrama, synthesizing the reality of what it means to be an up and coming idol, a trainee, and so on. The teams will each be meeting for initial interviews about their trainee and idol experiences, hardships, and what they hope they can bring to the table in terms of their character and storyline. They'll then meet for a korean bbq feast (each group separately) to get to know each other and begin brainstorming for the project. The next filming session will cover the first initial idea meeting, in the broadcasting station in one of their conference rooms, where they'll play a quick series of warm up games popular amongst actors, including the mirror game, an improv game, and some stretching and tongue twisters. then they will begin work on the title and themes of the shows.

Today is move in day! The cast will come down to the show at varying times, though the older "npc" cast members will be present from the initial filming so your muse needn't worry about walking into an empty house. The first task will be to choose rooms/beds. Given the smaller cast, they can choose to room with one of the NPCs or in a group together, as your muse likes. Boys and girls will, of course, be separated. Roommates is unique in that they're limiting interview segments and instead asking the cast to chat together organically with provided questions, so once everyone has come to the house they'll gather in the second floor television room to chat and get to know each other. They'll be asked to introduce themselves, share their worries and hopes for living together on the show, and so on.

The first episodes have begun filming this cycle, which means all the growing pains of a new show. Each idol will be introduced through a montage of them training in their various styles back at their home companies, with a voice over of the idol answering various interview questions about their dance style, inspirations, and so on. Afterwards, the idols will be assembled together before the captains and judges. The captains (2 professional dancers/choreographers) will ask the idols to memorize and demonstrate a dance they've completed together. Thereafter, the captains will take turns choosing idols one by one for their teams, blue and red. The episode block will be concluded with the promise that team battles will start next week and that teams should begin discussing the song they'd like to perform.

Now that the contestants have each gone on a date with their randomly selected partner, it’s time to move on to the next stage! Each member of the show was asked to bring, this time, a particular small object of some significance to them. No other requirements were given beyond this. The members thus bring these items to the broadcast studio and conduct a brief interview that covers a few topics, most importantly, 1) would they like to remain with their partner from last time, ideally? 2) what does that object brought with them mean to them? The items are then placed on a table in a broadcast conference room, where the idols are allowed to go in one by one to pick an item. Unlike last time, the girls and boys are together and given a chance to see who else is on the show, at least of their perceived gender. The boys are taken to a room with the girl’s items unlabelled on the table, and vice versa for the girls. They’re then instructed to choose an item. After choosing an item they are then informed that the owner of that item will be their intended date for the day, at the location of their choosing.

After the revelation of the initial music video and the criticism following, the girls will be tasked with the instruction that they perform a rap that speaks to the essence of themselves. It is intended that these be hype tracks, in some way indicative of their core style, or so on introducing the rapper to the audience in a way that ingratiates them and demonstrates their style the most effectively.

After having been sorted into teams based on their particular mentors, the boys are shown in a training montage of their time under the tutelage of that mentor. They are instructed to select a track from that mentor to cover, interpreting it in their own style but remaining faithful to the original track. The second task is to take a track from that senior artist and cover it using the same instrumental, but writing their own rap. These covers are both partial and will be performed live at the end of the episode at a modest club in Hongdae.

With Seollal a heavy featuring this month, the boys will have a special New Year greeting episode. Dressed in hanbok they’ll spend some time at a traditional Korean house, playing games like yutnori, tuho, jaegichagi and more, with various punishments of course. They’ll also be instructed to go shopping for ingredients and make (in a traditional kitchen) tteokgguk, the traditional food of the holiday. Afterwards, they’ll have a lesson on how to conduct a proper tea ceremony, and end with a greeting to the viewers for the holiday.

As we move into the second set of episodes, the teams will begin working out the central narrative. The story is meant to follow a group of trainees at a small company through their debut process, and trainees are encouraged to share real life stories and bring them into their characters and plot lines. Each member is tasked, this episode set, with coming up with a characterized version of themselves in a way that will balance out with the others well, creating a successful ensemble cast. They’re also meant to begin sketching an outline of the drama’s plot, with the revelation that they will have a full eight episodes of content to produce and film, which fills the rookie actors with a lot of worry!

Now that the cast has been fully moved into the home, they have had some time to get to know each other. For the most part filming is done passively with the cameras that are wall mounted, as the cast is instructed to shop for the home, decorating to their unique individual tastes and seeing how these new roommates will negotiate working together despite different styles. Thereafter, they will be instructed to go to the nursery down the road and select some seeds, saplings, and sprouts to fill up their little backyard garden! The episode will finish off with a barbeque party on the patio surveying their work on the garden.

The two teams have gone through the brutal process of selecting a song and practicing under their new mentors. The Red Team has chosen Lo Siento by STAT1C and the Blue Team has chosen Mirotic by Gemini as their song. The performances are underway for this episode block, alongside preparation and the ever difficult task of dividing out their various parts for the choreography. This is sure to be heated as everyone wants the chance to shine within their team and competition is fierce. There will be a single semi-solo highlight section in each song, which is expected to be the main source of tension between teammates at this point. Ultimately, at the end of the performances, the Blue Team is declared the winner as it seems they have operated the most cohesively, though they lacked in the technical precision demonstrated by the Red Team.

The young romantics will be taking a 3 day, 2 night trip to Jeju Island. This episode block will track their flight, their arrival at the accommodations (with girls and boys obviously separated into different areas). They’ll be given the chance to interact as a group for the first time in a leisurely setting as they have a group barbeque in the evening after arrival. The next day will provide a selection. After two dates and a chance to see one another in a group, the idols are given a chance to pick who they’d like to go on a date with.  They provide their answers in the “Truth Room” with a short comment to the producers. The next day brings two revelations: who chose one another, who the partners will be, and that they will be paired together for the rest of the time on the island. Oh, and did we mention, there is a strictly no managers allowed policy?

It’s finally underway, the idol drama we’ve all been waiting for. With half of the cast rounded out we’re going to set things in motion now. This filming period will start off with a table reading where everyone can formally meet one another, go through the outline of the story, and do a read of the script for the first episode. After, the staff will begin coaching the actors through the choreography and musical numbers involved in the first episode. After a few weeks practice, the filming for the first episode will begin. The show is expected to begin airing at the end of May, so it should be a month packed with preparation, filming the pilot, and publicity events for the beginning of the show.

Battling performances are the name of the game this time around. While the battles won’t be direct as they have been in the past, they’ll be performing songs in a club in Hongdae, where the audience will be instructed to vote for their favorite competitor, alongside a selection of celebrity rap judges. This time around for their battles, guest celebrity producers have produced brand new tracks for the girls to rap their verses over. Perhaps for sake of drama, the order of choosing the track and producer they get to work with will be chosen by making the girls rank the remaining competition from best to worst (themselves excluded). The ‘best’ as chosen by the competitors will get to choose first, and the ‘worst’ will get the last remaining track.  They’ll have a week to write their lyrics and meet up with their producer before the live performance.

With a significant paring down having taken place in the last block of episodes, the competition is gearing up for the finale. Before that can happen, the remaining semi-finalists will have to battle one versus one, with the winners of each battle becoming the final two. Battling pairs have been chosen by the audience via online voting and they’ve been given a week to work on a beat together and write their verses before the fateful performance. It’s high pressure stakes, and they’ll have to diss each other, on the same beat, to win. The diss battles will take place on the SMTM stage in front of a large audience they’ll have to impress to win their votes and move on into the finals.

In honor of spring, the partners will be heading out to see the Cherry Blossom festival in Yeouido, where they’ll have a chance to sample street food, have a picnic, watch some busking performances, and of course admiring the cherry blossoms - and take plenty of pictures! The girls will then go to a themed cafe where they can get to know each other better over coffee and watercolor painting! They’ll choose their favorite picture from the day and paint it, exchanging them as a gift to one another afterwards. With such a pretty pair of girls and the lovely spring blossoms it’s sure to be pleasant eye candy for viewers!

With characterization and episode outlines complete, they’ll be working with a storyboard artist and a few webdrama writers to fill out their scripts. The episode block will cover multiple meetings as they work on constructing the scripts, coming up with ideas, and of course interacting with one another as they play ideas off each other. They’ll also visit a webdrama filming set where they can observe the process and get an idea of how things are filmed, how sets are arranged, and they’ll start thinking about their own set design and needs before meeting with some set designer and prop people to discuss what they’ll need based on the prior interactions as they finished up the scripts. The next episode block will begin the filming of the drama itself, so the time crunch is on.

Now that they have had a series of four episodes worth of filming to get to know one another, the Roommates cast is showing off some of the domesticity of living together- returning back late from schedules, decorating their shared rooms, cooking together, and so on. They’re set with the task of hosting a dinner party- each person should invite one or two guests, and they’ve been instructed to help one another with preparing a delicious meal, games, and other activities for the group. Fans are incredibly excited for the prospect of guest appearances in the episode and getting a glimpse into so many celebrities interacting “naturally” under one roof. However, it’s also likely to be a high stress situation, because things can be so easily misconstrued or misinterpreted in such a venue.

With the Blue Team coming out on top of the last episode, the Red Team - and Midas’ Pride - is at stake for the current block of episodes. This time will focus on an original composition donated to the teams. They’ll perform to identical songs and will be expected to work with their team mentor and one another to choreograph their own work, showcasing each member and their strengths while still providing a cohesive performance. This is sure to cause an immense amount of stress as many dancers will assuredly tell you meshing multiple disparate, strong styles into one performance is no easy feat. Ultimately some will likely have to yield their specific style interests for the sake of the group, which could lead to them feeling unfairly judged or frustrated later. In this episode block (spanning 4 episodes and culminating in the performances) the Red Team is deemed the winners, with the Blue Team cited as being unable to cohesively decide on a style that would best suit the group, rather than specific individuals pushing for their own style and trying to bridge the gaps between them.

THE MYTH COUPLE. With a nickname drawn from the names of their respective groups (Heaven and Atlas) these two are expected to uphold a very traditional and sugary sweet romantic idea of what it means to be a married couple. Their first meeting will involve a scavenger hunt which the groom must follow to find his bride. He will solve clues throughout the broadcast station, all pointing towards different locations to find the subsequent clue, each with casual notations or references to her groups. When he solves the clues, he'll find her waiting, sitting on a chair in the center of a stage with a blindfold on. He'll be expected to remove the blindfold and do the cute first meeting and so on. After that they'll have an ice breaker first date at a nearby cafe and will then separate to film their interview portions regarding the first meeting. This prompt can be filled either via a thread referencing these events or a solo that integrates the following interview questions: what is your ideal type? does your wgm partner match that type? what was your initial reaction? what do you think so far, after your first date?

UNPRETTY RAP STAR. now filming.

The girls of Unpretty Rapstar are charged with a pre-show interview. They are instructed to come to set on Saturday between the hours of 7am and 11am, and filming is expected to last for four hours. There will be general backstage antics recorded alongside some semi-staged practice and interaction shots, as each participant is taken aside to complete the interview. There are two ways to earn points here. 1st, complete a solo integrating the following interview questions: what is your inspiration as a rapper? how would you describe your rap style? who do you think is your biggest competition on the show?  The second option is a thread integrating the backstage environment between two contestants. You may only earn points once but are encouraged to thread with show members regardless.

The men of SMTM are charged, similarly, with a pre-show interview. However, due to the different nature of SMTM, they are also expected first to undergo a series of auditions for the judges. This will involve a lot of standing around in a giant group, rapping in front of both celebrity judges and mentors and PDs or staff (more of the latter, to pre-judge them prior to bringing the cameras over, to determine if it's worth it or not), and talking to one another as they stand around. Promising contestants will be pulled aside for an interview. There are three ways to redeem points. First, complete a thread regarding the events of the filming session. Second, complete a solo regarding the following interview questions: what is your inspiration as a rapper? how would you describe your rap style? who do you think is your biggest competition on the show?  Thirdly, you may do a solo of your muse's series of evaluation auditions in the large group setting, focusing on a single audition within that time.

The male pair for SDO is tasked for this filming block with their initial meeting on the show. This will take place at a pre-arranged filming location; namely, a swanky cafe themed around vinyl and old school record players, for a true hipster vibe. The cafe serves alcohol and coffee alongside some basic foods, so the hope is the boys will have a chance to warm up to each other quickly at this first meeting. They’ll then be sent to a virtual reality cafe together, before they return to the Sibling House to have “family time” where they can cook food and talk about their lives. Points can be gained with a thread for any portion of this episode filming.
