As far as I remember, this is AU: Kiibo is Professor Idabashi's biological son. However, his son finds himself in the midst of a disaster and ends up in the hospital... Unfortunately, Kiibo doesn't survive, and his father is inconsolable of this.

Amami had decided to forget everything. His life before the game. His life during the game. He even decided to forget the life he is going to have. All his dreams were crushed, his friends were dead, the last person he believed in betrayed him. He had nothing to lose. Amami Rantaro was no one. Just an nymphomaniac idiot who thought that everything would go his way.  The new Amami Rantaro was an adventurer, brave, amazing, without any flaws... Amami hate both of those side of him. He hates them. What was he to them ? Not even a lab rat, a slave... That’s right... Just a slave. He wanted to die so much... He hadn’t eat in 3 days. He was ready to do this until his body decide to let him die. He don’t care about the world... He don’t care about Team Danganronpa... He don’t care about himself...

-Hey ! said suddendly a voice beneath the door. Hey can you hear me ?! 

He didn’t answer. He didn’t knew the voice.

-Amami Rantaro ! I need your help !

The voice was clear, almost robotic.

-Don’t die please.

The only things Amami though was... how that voice was pure. Without a trace of hate, bitterness, nor regret. He started to listen to the voice.   

-I’m not from Team Danganronpa ! Well... I hope. You will be in the next killing game won’t you ?

Amami couldn’t respond. His throat was hurting.

-I want you to do something there. I want you... To protect my son. Please.

The voice was a young boy voice. Bt it didn’t matter what he said.

-Hey... I never had any friends... So would you be interested ?

-My name is... Idabashi. Nice to meet you !

When Amami heard this voice he knew what to do. He didn’t need Hope nor Despair. He didn’t need Past or Future. He didn’t need Truth or Lies. The only thing he knew is that he would protect this voice at all cost. Nothing else mattered.
