Eighth day. A quick recap.
So much to say but as I fall exhausted into bed (a cozy sleeping pad and bag) - it is difficult to capture the past days in a few words. Thus, I won't try. Quick run down: we are currently about 235 miles into the ICT. We have had tons of support on this first section and are extremely grateful. Now, we head out on our own relying on resupply boxes and a couple of preset drops. We have both lost weight and will likely continue to do so. Our goal is to minimize that as best we can. One of the oddest and most unexpected things for both of us is the lack of appetite after a 7-10 hour day of running/hiking. It becomes more of a chore to scarf something down before we pass out. Today was an epic day of climbing. I am not sure Taylor or I have ever used so many choice words as we climbed grades so vertical that you could face plant without actually falling. Ha! Brutal. Satisfying. Trail conditions have varied from non-existent to completely unmaintained to so-so to GREAT! We are forever appreciative of the work that has been done and will strive to bring more awareness and resources to this awesome trail. We will be fairly scarce with reception the next two weeks but will do what we can to keep everyone updated. Thanks for all the love and encouragement. We feel it. We need it. See you on the trail, AB & Taylor
