What an amazing day. ✨ Today, I participated in fitness activities in a sports bra (which I never do!) at the Dare To Bare event with @movemeant, a non-profit that promotes body positivity for women through fitness. As I rode my @soulcycle bike and stared at the Golden Gate Bridge, I realized how truly amazing SF is and how lucky we are to have such programs to benefit our community. Can't wait to ride again next year! 💪🏽🚴🏽‍♀️#IDareToBare (at Marina Green Park)

#idaretobare because too many years have passed with me at war with myself and how my body looks. My worth is not defined by what society says is "beautiful." My worth is not defined by what the number on the scale is. Guys!! This was my first ever photo shoot! I wore a sports bra to celebrate Movemeant Foundation's upcoming event in San Francisco on May 20th called Dare to Bare. This is your reminder to love your body! The reason #idaretobare is because my body is strong beautiful and capable at any size and deserves to be celebrated. I have flabby skin and don't have six pack abs, but I've run marathons, tap danced for hours and am capable of so much because I don't limit myself because of my size. It doesn't take the "perfect body" to be happy. I am proud of my body and encourage everyone to find happiness with your body at all stages and sizes. (at San Francisco, California)

#IDareToBare because I've spent enough time hiding behind my insecurities. After spending years grappling with an eating disorder and other body image issues, I finally said enough is enough and decided to take my life into my own hands. Choosing to be body positive is hard as we are often our own worst critic. In my case, my body image issues held me back from being the person I wanted to be and doing the things I loved. Once I learned to let go of all of the negativity and be kind to myself, my whole world changed. Today, 4 years into my recovery, I am happier and healthier than I have ever been and I have 0 intentions of reverting to my old ways. In the wise words of Ru Paul (and my own personal mantra) "if you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?!" (at SoulCycle Financial District)
