Today is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.

Harm Reduction Coalition stands in solidarity with sex workers worldwide and calls for the end of all violence against sex workers - including structural violence .

Tumblr's porn ban is another internet blackout for sex workers

Tumblr is the latest site to ban adult content, as a trend towards increasingly puritanical content guidelines drives everyone from sex workers to sci-fi fans to the margins of the internet

“Tumblr wasn't my base but it gave poor sex workers of color the ability to have nice or even beautiful websites for almost nothing due to the bomb ass user-created templates. All of us can't afford websites. Now all these folks gotta move around.She says that she's documented an uptick in online abuse of sex workers in the wake of a trend towards an increasingly hostile online environment for sex workers and observes that the most marginalized will be the most affected.”

Tumblr implemented this ‘crackdown’ on December 17 -  International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers!

Ending violence against sex workers — both individual violence and structural violence — requires our solidarity in building and fighting for a shared vision of justice, safety, and healing. Ending this violence requires us to lift up and amplify the survival tactics of the oppressed, while shifting resources and power towards people most vulnerable to structural violence.

December 17 is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.
