ok but cas telling dean about the deal in the next episode would give us dean mulling over his feelings, deciding what to do, and getting a chance, getting time, to do so. and that means, because he’s seen dean struggling with this news, with coming to terms with it, with finding a way out of it, when cas says “you’ve fought for this whole world” he probably follows that with a ‘you don’t need to fight for me too.’

it’s the fact that dean and cas are roommates for me. they live together and have for quite sometime. say they weren’t killed off at the end of the show, they would have lived together for years. dean has no recent entanglements with women, and no sight of it. his bachelor death even confirms it. but historians will say they were best friends.
