people aren't kidding, making art that doesn't chase after whats 'the best/most skilled' fucking ROCKS.

ive gotten so much happier in my art since i went, 'actually the visible brushstrokes and lines when im colouring are a really cool style'

idk just. dont try and chase after the 'best' style, embrace what you do, and how you enjoy doing it, and just fucking own it. its cheesy and common advice but its fucking true.

im just so much more happy doing this stylized sketchy colouring than mindlessly pursuing realistic gradients bc thats 'good art' [they are amazing, the people who have painterly and hyper-realistic styles are sooo skilled but its just. not my style]. i use two brushes and whats blending and you can see all the lines and marks and i love it.
