I hope I'm not bothering you, but I didn't really understand one thing- if you are in your mind palace, is it as if you were asleep, or really just thinking? How long does it take you to get into your palace, is it like falling asleep (with more consciousness) or really just closing your eyes, thinking about it and bloop- it's there? I can't manage to actually see anything when trying to build my mind palace and I seem to rather "teleport" than walk or float trough my mind-room.. Any advice? :/
It's a bit like the head space one goes to when reading a book or writing a story. A bit like lucid dreaming in that I have utter control over my actions but sometimes I follow a particular pathway because it feels right. That's not very helpful at all, is it? Sorry.
I can just close my eyes and I'm there, but it's individual and as long as it's doing what it's supposed to in terms of memory then you're fine. It's a little bit different for everyone so don't worry yourself.
If you can't see anything then it's entirely possible to have a palace by just insisting to your brain that's where certain objects are. Otherwise you could work on your visual imagination by paying attention to what your picture when you're reading or day dreaming.
The teleportation thing is a problem, however, as keeping the same route is vital for operation. Try actually walking around when your inside, physically moving your limbs I mean, and hopefully after some practice you'll be able to walk in your palace while lying down in reality. Good luck to you!
