Part 1 of Rue's Lore (cause it's kinda long :'))

Rue Leogan came from a family of successful doctors. They are not of a noble status but are respected well for their excellent service. Rue's mother was a doctor trusted enough by noble families to hire her as their personal doctor, and Rue's father was an optometrist who owned a clinic. Young Rue would be invited to their work frequently. She aspired to take after their job someday. She would be eager to learn and study about it often.

The peaceful and successful life of her family started crumbling when Rue's mother was caught having an affair with one of her patients. The patient was of noble status and had a fiance. He claimed that Rue's mother seduced him and he had nothing to do with the affair. His fiance believed him and angered, she declared Rue's mother to be killed.

Rue and her father waited for her mother to get home but she was late. They thought that she was just late due to her job. But that excuse was thrown out the window when they opened the door after a mysterious knock.

As they opened the door, the corpse of a woman–Rue's mother, all bloody and cold, wrapped in a black sack was at their doorstep. Along with a letter of warning to not outstep their boundary and to keep quiet about the murder.

The death and secret affair of his wife made Rue's father lose his mind. He became sleepless with nightmares that deteriorated his sanity. No matter what Rue did, her father became more ill each passing day. With an unstable doctor and a child left to run business, the state of her family dwindled.

Eventually, Rue couldn't stand her father's condition anymore and ran to a hospital in hopes that they could help her father better than she did. So she took all the money she could find in their house and ran to get help.

But it wasn't easy. Rue's small stature wasn't able to convince or drag her father anywhere. She is forced to go alone to get some help. Yet as a child and lack of proof, the staff only ignored her because they thought she was a mischievous child pranking them for fun. Eventually they got annoyed with her and kicked her out. In desperation, instead of giving up, Rue ran from hospital to hospital instead until someone would listen to her. No one did. And she got robbed by a group of thieves on the way.

Part 2 – Shadow Beneath Hope

[ yeah there's a title. I didn't give one to the first part cause Idk what to put lol ]

Defeated and depressed, she finally gave up and planned to go home instead before she lose any more. But on the way, she met a priest. The priest asked why the child was walking alone. Rue told the priest about the problem with her father. He told her that the church would be willing to help him. Happy for the help, Rue accepted the offer with no hesitation.

Rue's father was transported to a hospital. And Rue herself was forced to work as a child to be able to pay for medical bills for her father. But no one trusts a child and would only throw pitiful glances her way as she tries her hardest to earn money.

It wasn't enough. The money and efforts she gave unfortunately wasn't enough for her father to at least be safe. The hospital secretly transported her father to an asylum and all that's left of his sanity has worsened there.

One night, he managed to escape. And went to the manor of the noble's who killed his wife and killed a few until he was killed too. And yet another bloodied remains appeared on the doorstep of Rue's family–with the last of them witnessing what she thought she could've saved, rot beneath her feet.

Another note was given. And this time, a threat to completely destroy what is left of Rue's family. Terrified, Rue ran away.

What is IDVI? IDVI is an OC AU of Identity V where this takes place in a world where Identity V is a mobile game based off a real life legend called “Legend of Oletus Manor”. While people believe it is just that, a legend, nothing but mere fiction with some names of real people in there out there in the world are people who know how real this ‘legend is’. The Researcher is one of these people someone who descends from someone related to Orpheus, her family as archived documents about the original manor games that took place. While the family were the ‘safe keepers’ of this knowledge to stop it from getting out of the public and into the wrong hands the Researcher took it differently: she saw it as salvation. She believed that Orpheus’ work was perfect to bring ‘salvation’ to those who were broken. Against her family’s oath she created the ‘Oletus Society’ who were dedicated to researching this drug that was documented and recovering old documents of the original games. After a lot of experimenting for years and hiding in the guise of a school she could finally start without exactly killing anyone so that they may live till ‘salvation’. This is when the school takes a turn for the worse, and students who already had a tough time living only had it rougher when the Researcher would hand pick them to participate in the games. Here the drugs act in two different ways for the survivors and hunters. The drugs bring out the hunter’s surpressed desires and turns the, extreme, going extreme lengths to bring that desire to reality. The Researcher refers to the ‘hunters’ as Harbingers of Salvation. Being able to reach for your desires is the blessing that is given to the hunters because the Researcher believes they reached salvation and gave them this ‘gift’ as a reward. While to the survivors the hunters are embodiments of their regrets and fears which the Researcher believes is holding the, back from reaching true salvation therefore the survivors will always fight the same hunter or a different one depending on all their fears and worries. If survivors are shuffled they are picked specifically because of a common fear or regret. While the survivors try to think of this as ‘positive’ because they just need to reach a quota in order to survive it is the opposite. While the Researcher goes further insane in her work she believes that survivors who were not showing signs of ‘healing’ are to be killed. Special games called the ‘sudden death’ appear to kill off these survivors unless they can prove their worth which is what spooks the survivors since they’ve been living under the idea that it was all okay, nothing would hurt them as long as they made the quota. Now its an endless fight for their life because is this salvation even possible to reach with such methods? They’d never know, and the Researcher would never which is why she’d never be ‘satisified’ and this would go on till they fail the ‘sudden death’ match. Or maybe until ‘that’ organization finally comes out.
