ok so CWs for death mention as well as technically being held a hostage and injuries
But I'm imagining the reader in Cryptic notes entering the manor with the rest of her crew. She's being put on task of searching through the deeper parts of the manor while the rest search through shallower parts.
This includes the upstairs.
The entire time that she's upstairs, she doesn't realize the others are dying below her feet in various different ways; the manor is so huge so she just can't hear them. She ends up finding the muse key and the necklace and so she puts it on.
That's when she finally comes into contact with one of the first anomalies she sees; it's the Wraith. He's standing in front of her, staring her down with his vision being obscured by the hood.
She freezes.
They stare at each other.
He raises his hook and she bolts.
With the others dead, the anomalies begin targeting her more frequently, and so she ducks and weaves and is sobbing the entire time she's trying to make her way out. She can't leave the way she came in too; the ceiling had collapsed.
And so did the floor underneath her feet. She falls into one of the bedrooms and her leg snaps. Oh boy it hurts. Sobbing, she doesn't take notice to the Wraith as he materializes in front of her, preparing to kill her -- he stops as the Pale Man grabs his wrist, his master stepping forward to the reader so that he may pick her up.
Through her tears, the reader hears him mutter; "my dear, you've returned."
