💀 YOUR MUSE COMFORTING MY MUSE DURING A SCARY MOVIE

She had insisted that she would be okay; that she was old enough to enjoy a scary movie. ( Isabelle always enjoyed Halloween, but she had always been more invested in dressing up like Princesses or Fairies as opposed to becoming a bloody bride or anything. ) Kaos had seemed skeptical at first - repeatingly asking if she was positively sure about this decision - but ultimately agreed, deciding to choose something that he thought would be scary but still age appropriate-- ‘Monster House’.
They were settled on the couch, big bowl of popcorn settled between them with drinks and even some candy despite the hour. ( ‘Aw, what the hell, it’s the weekend.’ ) At first, Isabelle couldn’t help but be excited; swinging her feet as the darkened room glowed with the light from the television as the movie started, unable to keep herself from feeling somewhat proud-- this would, in some way anyhow, help prove the fact that she was becoming a big girl.
It was going smoothly so far... well, until the movie truly began to start.
Truly seeing the ‘Monster House’ in which the movie was named for in motion - springing to life while bellowing like some sort of dragon-monster - Isabelle couldn’t help the way her breath had hitched in her throat, wide green eyes seeming to be glued to the screen despite her fear; until she found the courage to cover her eyes with both hands. Still, the sounds rang in the living room, and she couldn’t help the whimper that escaped her throat as she slouched against the couch.
The child nearly flinched upon feeling a hand gently grasp her shoulder, and she found it within herself to peek through fingers towards Kaos; who had wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders. She didn’t need any more prodding before she moved in closer towards his side, burrowing her face into him.
She couldn’t help the shaking in both her body and voice as she managed to talk. “C--Can we watch something else? Please?” Perhaps another year.
